    A small review after buying the 3DOF seat mover from dynkit:

    I have been interested for a long time in such a system, but
    a DIY build was due to lack of time, tools and knowledge not an option for me.

    After some days of intensive researches, I came across this thread and got interested.

    It is affordable and after reading further, it sounded good to me and I contacted Igor.

    The whole process took only four weeks from building to the delivery to me in Germany.
    One week for the delivery itself, pretty fast.

    ## building process
    Putting the steel frame together took only two hours and is very solid.

    I have it attached with HE SimPedals.
    The wheel is an OSW with small Mige, which is installed on a seperate frame.
    I think, it is more like in real car, where you are forced to/from the wheel, too.

    The wiper motors have some space, of course. This can be felt on the traction loss axis,
    when it does not return to center completely
    For roll/pitch axis, I do not recognize this while driving.

    The software setup with the provided presets is just easy.
    The fine tuning with the provided SimTools is the most time consuming process, I would say ;

    Most interesting thing after all, when I have DOF turned off,
    even with the FFB wheel, it feels like dead -)

    With the great support (Igor to name him),
    I would buy it again, no doubt.

    I'd be grateful for some advice on dealing with the slack in the gearing with this platform. When the platform resets to neutral everything is fine and level, but when I sit in it, the centre of gravity shifts to behind the pivot (unavoidable with my height). The left hand motor/gear stays fairly fixed when this happens, but the right hand motor rotates back about 20 degrees putting the seat on a tilt to the left. If I was driving a lot and bouncing around perhaps this wouldn't matter, but I got this platform for flight so I'm straight and level most of the time, which means that I'm leaning uncomfortably to the left hand side. I was thinking that if I tweak the neutral for the right hand axis it could account for the slack but I can't find anything in SimTools to adjust the neutral point. Even if I do though, I wonder if I'll then lurch to the right as soon as I pitch forward any significant amount. I really wasn't expecting this much gear slack.

    I am using this rig for simracing and I can recognize the slack on the tractionloss axis.
    My plan is, in order to have it recentered mounting springs.

    For the tilt you mention, you can watch the virtual axes in SimTools, in order to see,
    what is actually going on.
    I had problems with Assetto Corsa and the Yaw-axis, as it did just go from left to right.

    Thanks for the suggestion, though my issue occurs even with the platform unpowered. Springs sound suitable for yaw but I don't think I'd want to give the vertical axis motors that much more work to do. See attached picture for this morning's brainwave - a lead acid battery counterweight.

    Guys, I just received my TractionLoss upgrade but I'm having some issues, when I use it with VR. Of course everytime the TL moves the whole rig makes the VR helmet moves too but I was hoping that when the TL movement would end the rig would return to the center so the head position in the game will not be in the center of the deck.
    Im playing with the filters into the simtools game engine but I'm not having luck.

    Do you have any ideas or tips to fix this?

    EDIT:
    I found that I was using yaw instead of extra 1. it solved the problem.
    I'm completely happy with this upgrade! I recommend it to everyone

    I have the 3dof version and the htc vive, and the experience is great.
    IMHO the acceleration and braking depends on several factors, the total weight you put to the rig (ie wheel base, gear box, your weight, extra accesories), game feedback, the car you are driving, simtools setup, etc. When everything its setup correctly, it will not push you with enough force to put your face into the steering wheel, but you will feel that you are braking. I saw some pics from other guys that use safety belts with this rig but I think it is totally unnecesary.
    For me VR is a must have with this rig.
    I hope this helps you to decide.

    Motion simulation is about fooling your brain about movement and forces, much as VR is about fooling your brain about the visual world, both work by exploiting your perceptual and process weaknesses. Hence motion and VR compliment each other if done well and by that I mean there is no perceptual lag in either and a high level of precision.

    So instead of creating actual sustained G-forces a motion sim uses movement and other things like a race harness to create motion ques, your brain fills in the gaps. The design of the sim and additions like quality peripherals, transducers and sound all contribute to help fool your brain, as does adding VR, which immerses you visually into the simulated world. What you get is a sense of acceleration and deceleration that while not a sustained G-force is still far more immersive that on a screen.

    Thanks guys. I allready have VR (oculus) and Also a nice GT omega racing chair and Fanatec steering wheel and pedals. I also installed tactile feedback with Simvibe (also a huge gamechanger...). So my next step wil be the motion sim. Saving up some more money so I wil order after the summer..

    Got mine in under a week. Just got everything assembled. I did fight with sim tools for hours.. way to long to be honest. I'm going to clean up some of the doc for Igor. Adding some screen shots, and links to quick videos will help people in the future. I purchased the P3 with traction loss. The support and communication from them as been awesome. Highly recommend!! The time it would take to fab your own is not worth it.. The kit is high quality and hand built.

    A couple of questions to the owners of this kit.

    How is the CoG adjustment made based on your weight and hardware? Is it made at all?

    How does the kit behaves if it is powered off? Can you still play without being titled to the sides or front?

    In addition to my previous questions I would like to know if there is some kind of potentiometers for changing speed and travel in runtime and a killswitch to pause the power to the motors?

    Sorry for delay with answer.

    Central rod has holes for adjustment CoG, but I don't know anybody use they or no.

    It can be use in powerOFF mode, but it has little tilting. This is a drawback of worm gear and it's hard to do something.

    Speed change by software. kill-switch button no implement yet. But easy can be add if you need.
