Yes, perfect!! This will help a lot to reduce the risk of damage during testing and emergency shutt off :) Try to give enough travel space into the damper. The forces are huge and the small dampers are not as hard as they seem - my experience

Thanks to @thefost and @Peacemaker105, I changed design once again, really love this one, which seems to be strong !

    [IMG] [IMG]

And I will try a new link method with collar (OD of nut is 36 and ID of alu tube is 36)

It makes me win 30mm on stroke VS the previous design (I lost 12mm with DIam40 IGUS bearing)

Don't hesitate to make advices :)

I went to a local shop and realize that 5mm rod is very ... unstable :p

So I made a new try with 10mm (tube or rod) and I discouple base and top rods.

I had to go to OD120/ID112 tube for pulleys and belt to be ok.

    Hi,

after a lot of discussions on discord with @Thanos @SilentChill @thefost @MagicMunkyNuts @Peacemaker105 @pmvcda (thanks to them), I choose to go with beam design which seems to me a lot easier to build. And tubular/cylinder design seems to be not very silent as it seems.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Orange parts are PETG, white ones are IGUS filament and the bearing is a IGUS J https://www.igus.ee/product/66.

And maybe because I already received all the beams :p

Final stroke is 530mm, for 500mm used in rig.

And roughly how much cost per actuator to build?

    Wow
Such a clean job you did.

I was wondering about your motors ? Can you give us some specs please.
What is the lead screw size ?
All orange parts are 3D printed right ? Can you please share?

    Thank you.
