I am wondering what the legalities are if you wanted to build and sell several on ebay or to friends or whatever... The simulator will be my own design and will be sold very cheap. It would feature xsim software and have scn5 actuators. Is it illegal for me to sell these if I were to actually create a business building and selling and supporting a racing simulator for people? What are some ways to make some money with these?? They are fairly easy to make but most for sale are very expensive vs the cost to build right? so what if I wanted to sell one that is just a bit over cost and do it for fun on the side of a part time job? Any advice would be great! Thanks

X-Sim is free for commercial and non-commercial use, but cannot be sold, it must be given away freely. The pricing concept that you mention is the same concept that we based SimXperience on. Currently, our DIY kits are priced at or near what a DIY user would pay for the sum of the individual parts, and in some cases actually represents a savings of the sum of the parts since shipping is only paid once, and not on 10-20 individual items from 10-20 different online stores.

I already have bass shakers in it! It feels amazing even without the actuators active yet! My goal with this is to make maybe a hundred bucks per simulator for profit. But for the most part its for fun and just giving them to friends for cost of parts. What if I was a legal business and sold this at a store? Is that crossing any lines even if it is kept cheap?

Mine are built out of wood. Include bass shakers/amp. I may include a monitor upon request. No sound system included unless requested. Base cost is going to be around $1600. Just add monitor and sound system.
