Is X-Sim right for me?

    As I understand Modbus, it is only for communication and it would require the PC to actually be the brains of the "interface".
    So its not really a perfect setup, if anything went wrong on the PC side, the rider would go for the ride of his life.

    What we really want i believe is an 'arduino' that can act as the brains of the interface and then talk Modbus to whatever we want?
    Maybe if I understood Modbus better I could be of more help.
