Hi, I am developing a force feedback fishing rod. The last part is the actuator that puts resistance to emulate that there is a fish.
I have seen that in this forum there are many projects implementing force feedback, I would like to implement it in the reel.
I had thought of using some brake actuating with a servo but I have not found anything, I would like to ask for advice to implement.
What would be better a brake or a torque motor?
    Thanks to all

Just spitballing but I would think a largish RC servo motor driving a planetary gear inside the reel hub could possibly work. At the simple end haptics could give a sense of a bite or strike, though not the actual force.

Hi thanks for replying. It is more a question of hardware would it be better to move it to that topic?
I had thought of two ways to get it one would be mounting the actuator on the reel and the other would be similar to "SimFish" a video where I just want to imitate the motor that would go apart from the rod.
The doubt would be which motor could be used for that.
    Thank you very much

that looks like a good solution - connect the line to an electric motor
