I have not seen any DIY rigs with Hydraulics

is there a reason for this ?

i have 6 Hydraulic actuators with linear potentiometers - they came off a flight simulator :)

can i use simtools/SMC to activate them ?

I am assuming the hydraulic actuators can be driven at different rates like a motor
or are they switched digitally on and off up / down ?

    anyone got any hydraulic experience

Hydraulics adds a level of complication and mess not normally found in DIY Sims. To use hydraulic actuators will require a powerpack and possibly a small accumulator. Each actuator will require it's own valve and depending on what you're planning it might be tidier to mount all these to a small manifold.
If hydraulics is your area of expertise then I'm sure there's nothing stopping it from being used. But for most folk a low voltage 12V or 24V is a far simpler option.

I found wery interesting pneumatic project on Youtube.
I think pneumatic & hudraulic have much common in the construction.
