I am starting build a flight sim and I have looked at serval different styles . Some that pivot under the seat( like most of the racing sims ) while others pivot from above the seat (like the joyrider). It seems that the joyrider style would give you more motion and more realistic pitch and roll. But I pose the question . Is a lot of motion really needed.? And Do sims that pivot from under the seat give a realistic feeling for pitch and roll for flying ? I would love to hear from those who already have working flying sims . Thanks in advance

A joyrider is a 2DOF rig, which is far more limited than a 6DOF.

Perhaps narrow down your expectations and plans a bit, such as what budget do you have in mind, what sort of floor space do you have, and what type of project complexity are you confident with?
