A few have asked me how much it cost. So I put together a video on how much it cost to build up my bare bones rig. I'm sure I glossed over a few things but all in all it's pretty much there . - The basics.. Take a look if you have time.. DMAX

I bought a used motor and made it. That amount required about 1000 dollars. Depending on what materials and parts are used, the price varies widely, but I think that some degree of completion will come out only after passing 500 dollars.

    Thanks for your video!
My 2DOF sim cost me about 700€, but I think that by using a wooden structure and refurbished wiper motors we can go down to 400€ (without peripherals or PC of course ^^ ) .

Hi I used D Max's video as my inspiration and so far I have spent around £400 on my rig which I don't think is to bad and could of been cheaper if I shopped around for materials.

The cost depends a lot on what are you going to build. I started from 15 euros wiper motor and ended to 200 euro professional motors

Yeah.. So agree.. I bought three commercial grade motors for $100 each. Works fantastic. now I am doing a couple series on testing Cheaper motors (WW motors) (wheelchair motors) trying to get actual data to the folks wanting to build these and using motors easily available. I would have loved to use those 60:1 Motion Dynamics motors available in AUS.. but the shipping costs were to be frank, insane.. so I went with the 50:1 crab pot motors on my 3DOF.. but since I cannot get them anymore I did a series on using basic WW motors.. not that great but I did a whole video series on them.. Now upgrading them to motorchair motors.. way more powerful, but now at 24 v.. so a few different components.. Here is the video series on that if you care to take a look.. DMAX motion sim YouTube ch

Great video and really cool channel. In my case, I have lost count of how much I've spent because I completely started from scratch. I didn't even have a capable computer or anything to play for that matter, except for a very old PS2 console. I got a welder as well just for the build, and likewise have ended up using it for a few other projects. I don't know probably close to 2 grand plus hundreds of labor hours but totally worth it. Enjoying your channel, keep up the good work and inspiration :popcorn
