    I have some Dyadic programming tools and a DLL that I can use to probe the SCN5. I will investigate this, and if it's possible to extract current actuator speed via this dll, I will add this as a feature into the SimXperience Commander software so that we can all see our realtime actuator speed. I am currently low on 100mm actuators, but I am expecting a shipment from Japan this week. I will perform this testing when I receive them.

    Stay tuned, I will probably have some discounted test actuators available for purchase in the coming weeks. Once I have used them, they cant be sold as new ;)

    Measured mine too with the IPhone, I have about 7/8 degrees front and back, 11/12 degrees left and right. measurement with an IPhone is not very accurate this way i think. but you get the idea...

    Spendiddd,

    I believe Niels is asking what the spacing is between the actuator mounts at the top of the seat.

    Great News, i hope that you will find inside the dll, a command in order to know the real actuators speed! :happy:
    Several month ago, i have send 2 mail directly to dyadic japan in order to buy 2 SCN5 and i never receive any response, how did you do? What is your secrecy? :?

    above is about 29 cm, below is about 70 - 75 (can't measure now i am at work) Thanks for the tip anyway :D

    Cheers

    Hi Barnard,
    Once again thanks for the helpful information. Does the 260lbs also include the weight of the seat?
    And what is the type or brand of adjustable dampers are you using?

    Thanks

    Robert

    Hi Robert,

    Glad I can help. The 260lbs is occupant weight only and is suggested only when using the limiters. However, I am 230lbs and I have driven some exteme profiles with a 25lb weight in my lap and have had no issues even with the limiters off.

    My inline dampeners are custom manufactured. The rear bar dampeners are standard vibration mounts. I dont recall what hardness we wound up choosing. Give vibrationmounts.com a look, I think early on, I got some from them without having to buy in bulk.

    :cheers:

    Thanks for your quick response Bernard;
    I spoke with sales support at vibration mounts, and they suggested that the only product they can recommend to achieve the a good x, y, and z pitch and roll at 210lbs plus 19lbs Sparco Fighter seat was the V-100 M style mount from their section 2. “V10Z46MKD055”

    I am not sure how this will affect the angles of the push and pull of the 150mm actuators? Please advise

    Thanks

    Robert

    This link to vibrationmount above doesn't show the correct type of mounts. I know they have these somewhere, or at least they once did.

    I am sorry I pasted the wrong link. I do see the same one that you and Mike are refering to on this page;

    http://www.vibrationmounts.com/Store.as ... ducts2.htm

    Do you fore see a disadvantage of using the M-Style Mounts on the same page for a pivote option?

    Thanks

    Robert

    Mike thanks for the info, What is the reason or advantage accrued from using to two different dampener profiles; A-3 and A-4?

    Thanks

    The M-Style mounts are optimized for low speeds and are lacking vertical give. They sure look alot nicer though.

    I started off using just 2 A-4 that are rated at about 115lbs each and I felt that I had too much movement so I added another pair of A-3's which are rated at 70lbs each.

    Bertrand,

    Why you don't use SCN6 instead SCN5, i think that a SCN6 will be good for your simulator? The speed is right and the power tork is highter. The price is not so expensive, what do you think about this?
