The original building thread you will find here.
It has been discussed many times how loud are winches at least. There are some actions to be taken to reduce the noise of winches like additional grease, no weight on the planetary gear, shock absorbing platform etc. Onto my rig there are three winches, one for heave and a standard 2DOF seat mover. The motor for traction loss is not a winch and cannot be heard at all (within the overall noise).
For the best comparison I said three times or so "this is a human voice"...at the beginning of the video game AC with a enjoyable standard sound (not too loud, but loud enough), later again without sound and than with sound again, at the very least with a louder sound like I would do in an online race.

Much quieter than I expected @Pit, more noise from the rig movement than the motors.
