Hallo - is there anybody out there?
I am completely new to the subject Sim in motion. I would like to introduce myself to the people of this forum. I am ART FLY pretty old already and I will do my best to start this new adventure.
I will perform my best English to be a nice guy in your comunity.
Starting with Pong as a teenager - gaming through ATARI, NESes and all PSes up to now I started PC gaming just a year ago. Racing and flying in VR for a while already in steady somehow sims . IMG_20191122_213818.jpg
And now I'd like to conquer the Holy Grale of gaming to me - building a 2DOF DIY something ... as I am lightyears away from purchasing one from any Shop :(
I bought parts from a former seatmoverproject. IMG_20200212_153240.jpg
I wanna give my best to build something like this https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/from-atoz-2dof-arduino-wiper-playseat.4616/ as I like to do racing and flying in it.
    See you around,
    Cheers Yours ART FLY

    P.S.1 . I am 105kg right now ... but shrinking :) might that work?

P.S.2. Which licence do I have to purchase. If all works I'd like to play a number of car/plane games.
Could I start with the DIY licence and pay up to the next level later?

    Thanx for helpin' me!

Welcome and thanks for sharing your project and background.

Don't worry, many members here, including myself, started with little knowledge and skills, but big ambitions to build our own motion simulator. Thankfully we a really active community here who freely give of their time and expertise.

You will find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs to get you started, in particular check out the design section: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

In particular check out the design section: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/design-considerations-resources.24/category

There you will find SimCalc, which will help to get your head around Design Vs Physics, and resolve your first question: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...e-linear-speed-and-forces-of-your-design.270/

And also information about your second question, including the eligibility criteria for a free SimTools DIY license: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/request-a-free-diy-simtools-2-0-license.262/

    Good luck with your project.

Hi I just found your comment and I thank you very much for your incouragement.
Actually I just went from imagining to doing. As you told me in your writing this community is fabulous and I already experienced help from Noorbeast and cgodwin ... and of course you Gadget999.
I invite you in giving tips and thoughts about what I try to establish. https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...-2x160w-sabertooth2x32-race-flight-sim.14822/
I will be so proud and thankful about anyone guiding me a smooth way to a well working motion simulator.
Thanks & see you around :thumbs
