    I will only be running
    Assetto Corsa
    iRacing
For now and need some help planning the PC.
I plan to run it in VR using a Oculus Quest 2.
Trying to keep the cost down. So what would be the way to go ?

    Thanks, Randy

As simulation games are not really optimized for VR, generally go for the highest specs you can afford, particularly for GPU, athough a decent CPU also matters.

Is their a list to work from ? I have learned about the GPU and would like to build a good base to work from until the price on them comes down.

Here in Australia until recently it was impossible to buy high end GPUs except with other bundled hardware, but thankfully that has now eased a bit.

What is your working budget inclusive and exclusive of a GPU?

You can use something like BuildMyPC to get a basic cost/spec idea if you are building the PC yourself: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/

Or the other option is to look at the likes of Amazon and Walmart for VR ready gaming PCs

Again you want the best hardware you can afford, so pick what takes your fancy and post it here to see if other members can make suggestions about the specs or parts chosen.

Personally I went for the top end and am looking at biting the cost bullet for a ASUS TUF-RTX 3080TI for the computer I just built, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, WD_Black SN850 2TB NVMe, Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600MHz, Strix X570-I, all in a NR200 case, an expensive but powerful little beastie!

Using yours as a guide line. What about going with a Ryzen 5 and a 3060 and moving up later ? Saying the MB will do the later upgrades.

That should work well and be upgradeble if needed, it really comes down to cost and what you determine is value for money.
