    So new MM's have arrived two days ago, yesterday spent a long time with assembly, but it seems Motor 1 is stubborn...
    Although I have progress, Motor2 is working like a charm! :)

    Any idea guys as to why isn't Motor 1 following the target line downwards?:confused:

    Great that you sorted it out.
    Like always there must be an issue...first when you switch to motor 1 the feedback and the target line are not one above the other. The motor gets power but does not move. I suggest to switch the motors (or the MMS) by replacing each to other to check out if the issue persists. I assume that you have all wired correctly.

    Resoldering of all wires has started, hopefully this will sort out things!

    Well soldered everything perfectly, I simply can't do a better job:

    The frustrating this is, that I know I did not love up this time and even though this piece of shit motor 1 does not move downwards...
    BTW motor 1 has a brand new pot!

    OK, please switch motor 1 <-> motor 2 and the pots as well. Then report what happened.

    Switched as instructed (also cables on MM): IMAG0313.jpg

    Now visibly in SMC Utility you won't see any diffrence, but on the sim the other motor was moving.

    @Greg83 did you reverse cables red cycle from photo? do you power with 5V to the MM with those cables too or only the POT's? if yes you reversed polarity to the MM.
    a photo with all connections would be better

    hmm, very annoying.
    BTW I cannot see how the boards are connected using GND...
    Both motors seem to work (if switched). Whereas you switched the pin out of the MM, the MM could be faulty. In order to get out what really happens you should test your arduino only with one pot (A0), one motor and only the wiring for one motor (1). If this works well, use the same pot and same motor for A1 (instead of A0).
    Be sure you are using SMC 0.63 and not 0.7.

    Yes I do power MM with 5V and I have changed the cables there too (cabling: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/attachments/motomonstersetup-jpg.10992/):

    If available check your wire by using a voltage and continuity tester

    So tested this out and it seem the problem lies within A0 part because when I plug over everything from the working A1 side it stops working downwards.
    Can I have done something with the Arduino when I blew up my MM?

    @Pit Just to be clear if I did not miss understand anything! Try it like so: MotoMonsterSetup.jpg
    And then change the green line to A1?
    Currently Motor 1 and Pot 1 is not working like this.
    My test was to witch pot1/motor1/MM motor 1 cable with pot2/motor2/MM motor 2 cable.

    hi @Greg83 if you use only one pot both motors are working simultaneously. By switching A0 to A1 you can check the Ard if the signal will send correctly.
    Do you own a Voltmeter? If you can check the A1/B1 and A2/B2 outputs that would be helpful. If the voltage differs (eg. one output ~12v, the other 6V or so) than your MM could be damaged.
    At least the MM has some LED lights as well which should be on when the PSU is attached and on, too..
    Aside of each chips there are some small LEDs - can you make a video of them while turning the pot? (PSU must be ON)

    You should clearly see the LED next to the ports that indicate that there is a signal going to the chips (pit beat me to it). If there is no lights that means no signal or no power going to the chip. If the lights are flashing but no movement then the MM chip is dead. One thing to rule out the arduino being the problem is go into the arduino code and change the PWM and analogue pins + wiring for the motor that does not move. If the motor still does not move, then it could be a dead MM.

    @Pit : Hey, managed to shoot two video's of the motors @work:



    Tried using only 1 pot, but instead of my motors moving at the same time the one that did not have its pot connected to the Arduino went down to its phisically maximum position and had to quickly turn off power to avoid damage.
    Got a Volt meter, I should measure the voltage at the cables going out from the MM to the motor right? Obviously while the motor is following target with sine?!!.!

    @Alexey : Previously we have done a test with Pit when I changed the whole Motor1/Pot1 cabling to Motor2/Pot2 position and the motor worked like that, so my guess is that the problem lies with A0 part of the Arduino. Is my thinking solid?
