Games ?

Hi

As a noob i have had alook for what is the best game to get and car to use to get an all round feel after playing with the plugings n profiles.
I like f1 and single seaters, i like touring cars.
I am mainly asking as i don't have any games atm only the race07 demo to which im not going to be happy with long term i think.
I orginally wanted to use iracing overall as the main one when im set up and fully working and understand everything.
I would love to know a good car and game that works well with motion so i can focus on say one car but theres so so so many its mind boggling.
What cars do you tend to like to use the most i guess, and in what game i am asking ?

Personally, I have only ever tried iRacing and Assetto Corsa with motion but I can agree with noorbeast.
The Nordschleife in Assetto Corsa is amazing. I mainly use GT2 or GT3 cars as they are some of my favorites. Assetto Corsa is great in terms of just jumping on and having a few laps where as iRacing seems to get taken a bit more serious.

I have demo for live for speed but have no idea about putting the plugins into the game yet still trying to find my way and decoding what info i read to how i understand it.( i tend to think too much and the answers stare at me)
Thats what i will need a game i can switch on and be up and running for the times i only have a few hours to play but if iracing was the main thing i go for its a day to get into it all.
I will be running triple projectors or oculus rift so i have two systems for how i feel and want a good game for the set up of all that too so assetto corsa does keep popping up more than project cars.
I think you read my mind when it comes to the gt2/3 cars.

I think im getting excited just got my next part done on my room getting it ready to build the sim.
Im getting told off from the misses as its all in the lounge taking up half the room and its in front of the tv !lol

Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally
Never really had fun with Project Cars, but maybe it's just me. I don't like its Force Feedback

... and no triple screen and no 3Dvision support.

I can see the appeal Pcars has to the general public.....its not hard to see why so many like it. On the other hand, the motion is rather shi* the Tracks, even the laser scanned tracks have a Fuc*ed up track mesh. YES Its laser scanned but the Mesh the ACTUAL cars drive on, Is Not. Not to mention the FFB that was a COMPLETE Joke upon release and was patched 3 or 4 times before getting is somewhere in the ball park, Next would be the Distinct lack of content for racing series....Ya sure they have a lot of cars, but Imo lack the gendres of cars that tend to race together on track.


And DONT even get me started on the AI and the UNGODLY grip the grass offers. Not to mention weeks after release they have the audacity to start up Pcars2, Like they dont have 100000 bugs to fix in Version 1. Lol

Project cars is "community" built, but I think most of the community use a console and hand held controller. So thats the information they went off. Its sales more than anything. so FFb and really, anything else is going to be basic,
as I have said in other posts regarding this....

Sometimes I started playing pCars first and I thought myself "well, maybe I was wrong it's not that bad", then I lauched AC and... "OMFG this is Heaven!"
Sometimes I started playing AC and then launched pCars: 5 minutes and I was back to AC.

All this to say that if you just play or own Project Cars, it's not that bad, it could even be fun, but you ever played Assetto Corsa, there's no way you can prefer pCars over it (I'm just talking about physics, FFB, Tracks, not about multiplayer that we all know is still a pain in the a$$...)

Agreed, And as much as Stefano HATES motion rigs, His algorithms are THE BEST IN THE BIZZ BY FAR!!!!!!

The thing with games like Project Cars or even Dirt3 , Grid games is not the skill. Its the being part of a regular bunch of players. Doesnt matter if you are the only one on a motion ride. Its the getting drunk and stoned and having a good laugh and some fun idea. But Project Cars too expensive for me. Its $79 in the shops or nearly $98 on steam once you take into account exchange rate amd GST tax. I will get it but when its considerably cheaper.

Pretty sure Pcars is On sale on Steam this weekend. 40% off.

I am still building my shed atm so games have been on the back burner still buying kit, but what great posts from all you guys, it really does help us noobs on the motion sim side and the games are prob the most important to get right for a good experience to having your first rig working.
Imagine a noob spending lots of money changing to motion rigs and they put a bad game on it first and then lose the heart.
So the heads up is priceless to me, i am amazed that live for speed is still going tbh, i did use that on my triple screen when using ps3 but borrowed a pc to compare and tbh i was blown away with the adjustabilty in lfs and setting up your postion in the car views.
I actually felt i was sat in the car once that was set up.
Then the whole driving came into its own, i rememeber the massive smile i had and not so big smile when gave the computer back.
The pc im building atm is going to be for the game side and then build a second for the simtools only.

Graphics - 2 x evga gtx670 ( but waiting to see what happens when oculus change the scene and with VR launch, i guessing graphics cards wil have to be more powerfull very quickly so some good bargains could be had with such a big game changer of VR)

I am only short the proc and ssd atm.

Wheel - t500rs ( F1 and gt wheel)
frex - hand brake
3x plasma 50" ( to be changed to 3x projectors to get rid of bezels )

So games will run ok i am guessing with this build so far.
Atm i am going to spend my time looking at Live For Speed for the main fact theres no demo for Assetto Corsa and ive used it before.

Now whats the worst game to avoid for a motion sim would be the next fun bit to ask

motion improves game play once a good profile is set, even Daytona is 10 times more fun with motion even single player.
Flatout2 with surge and sway only is a blast

@f1iceman , race 07 good game as there is a zillion add ons. motion is not as refined as AC, but 07 still a good game plenty of online action to be found all the time.
