A stepper motor can be controlled, but is perhaps not an ideal choice, @Lebois did a lot of work with steppers but eventually like many others moved on to servos: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/my-2dof-with-stepper-motors.13558/

If you are not an electronics expert it will likely be less frustrating, easier and more cost effective to follow in the footsteps of others and either use DC motors or powerful servos, with the code and controllers for both being readily available in the FAQs.

If you do want to go down the stepper path then @Lebois is a good person to follow down that particular rabbit hole.

thank you, very kind. so choosing servo motors instead of stepper motors seems the simplest way to control them

perfect, and instead regarding the servomotors, I see that most of them use in90st/80st but I saw that the prices are quite high, I saw that this one has the same characteristics, could it be ok?

Servos and associated controllers have a significant cost, and are model specific.

DC motors can be a bit cheaper and even secondhand, with a range of controller choices.
