nice mate. well done. Ive sacked dirt off for now. for me it is an utter pain in the arse. @stevemontuno posted how to set it up and i did get it up and running. a few PC restarts later, the settings just vanished.

I tried nicks last settings post and it worked pretty well but i did add a bit of power having the large mige. i need a handbrake though as its a bitch to play without one.
Mine is crashing at the minute with the dreaded 100% disk usage. i had it before and wiped the PC, and all was fine but now its back. ive got nothing running that would cause it

Just had another try for 3/4 of an hour. Still cant get it to open up the FFB settings. Even worse its not recognizing my BlueHid buttons for the paddles, the bluehud is there in controllers in windows and I can see its working when I press the buttons but nothing happening when in Dirt settings.

DIY why do I do it.................

F'it im gonna go kill some dinosaurs now can't be arsed anymore tonight

You have to assign the wheel , pedals and up/down gears to open up the advanced ffb settings dude.

I wonder if its something to do with the codemasters proxy server why your bluehid isn't working ?

if it's working on other games it will be the proxy server issue ,,,

I think your BT buttons aren't being registed due to the Overwriting the device type,

    "
    Override device type to wheel

Load Dirt Rally, and navigate to the Controller screen. Click on “Choose Preset”. Press F1 while you are highlighting your DirectInput device to override the controller type to wheel. If multiple DirectInput devices are shown on this screen, you might need to override all of them. This should make advanced wheel setup available on the controller screen. You also might need to assign the steering axis, after loading the preset, in order for the advanced wheel options become available."

I had issues while i was trying to use my fanatec BMW wheel to get the Funky switch to work the menu's, I found i had to play around with this Overriding thing to get my SRW S1 and what not to work again once i got the wheel going. Im 99% sure they were joysticks before and it was defaulting to game pad or something.

My Fanatec wheels are done through a Teensy, So i HIGHLY doubt its the proxy server at work here.

@Nick Moxley Yep the proxy server is a telemetry based thing so i guess it does rule that out ,,,,, I reckon you've sussed it out with overriding the direct input devices though ,,that sounds bob on ,,,
I didn't know you can use the funky switch to navigate the menu's with the Fanatec conversion ,, does it also give you buttons to access in & out of menues too? i've been using my mouse to navigate menu's with the bodnar board ,, might have to have a play about with those direct input settings and see if i can get my funky switch working too.

My funky switch only works if i assign it in the configuration settings but doesn't work for scrolling through menue's.

I gave up on the BMW wheel, I couldn't seem to get it to work the way i wanted without screwing up the wheel. In the end i use a Rally wheel and Not the bmw, so it was a moot point in the end. I am currently in the works of getting a Alps switch working on A Teensy LC, If all goes well, I will likely add one to my Rally wheel for this type of menu surfing and it wont be seen as a Fanatec wheel still, so im sure the game menu wont freak out as it does,

Im pretty sure your leo board is limited by something and it Cant use those functions.

FINALLY GOT IT ALL WORKING !!!!

Got Dirt setup properly even found an old Teensy lying around so wired up my G27 shifter and I needed to as my handbrake is attached to it, although I could of just wired it into the simucube ;)

Video to follow soon but the torque is way too much in DirtRally its not that hard to hold the steering wheel in real life :eek:o_O:confused:

    Deffo needs tweaking some

First impressions are good tho only tried DirtRally so far, I can feel the same vibrations coming through the wheel as I can through rig. The slip and grip bumps and ditches you feel is so much better and the deadzone ????? what deadzone lol and the stupid oscillations are all gone :D

    Help please !! :)

How do you get rid of the horrendous constant humming in Dirt Rally ??

You get more than 10% in wheel friction and tyre friction it's terrible humming but leave it low the humming goes and you can't feel a thing ???

I also had to turn up the filter in mmos. The main one on the left. And i turned mmos power down some for DR. Yes friction filter causes issues.. Mmos, granity and DR all have thier own friction filters. They all cause humm on my setup. So i keep them low or off.
