There has just been released a new (still beta but working) version of EMC that runs on ESP32-S2/3
    Check it out: https://github.com/ebolzMagy/EMCFFBV2

It can be used for button boxes and flight controls as well as wheel. It's free if you're not using FFB effects, but otherwise only $10USD minimum project donation.

Okay, guys, i am back with more updates.
Okay so far i have completely ditched the idea of making the gears using normal chain gears (like cycle gears).
as they are mainly not very compact, as i wanted them to be in the 1st place, i should have thought of it i mean i could have shortened the chain but there was no shorting link for the damm thing so i had no choice but to ditch it.a nd move to 3d printed planetary gears, which takes much less space as compared to the chain gears.

Btw, if anyone wants a simpler approach and does not mind the space, then i would say go for it.

Okay I think that's more than enough rant for the past, so on moving on I have come up with a design

So this is it, ik ik its kinda ass but am not an engineer:_)
I dont even know if it will work
So anyway, the part where I have said WHEEL HERE is where the steering will go i have even gone the extra mile by adding a quick-release system.

i have even printed the main ring:

btw it stands without any screws i am kinda shocked it turned out so well :) lol

I think you're overcomplicating it. The planetary gears are not a bad idea but it's going to be very noisy and I would be concerned with the reliability of it. You're better off just using a big dc motor and go DD. Or even easier is something like ffbeast these days. The newer EMC firmware supports BLDC but unfortunately the dev is dragging his heels on a driver board for it (will probably never be released)

ya, i agree with you, man, but i dont have much of a choice and a bigger motor is kinda hard to come by my main goal was to make it simple but it keeps getting complex:_) i might be pretty dumb in that perspective

i would love to go with the DD option i was looking at ppl's hoverboard builds, too the FFBeast ver, but i dont have a motor that powerful right now, so I was working with something that i already have

if i had free range in choice, i would go for a closed-loop stepper motor full DD which would have been the best and simplest approach, according to what i have seen so far ig but very pricey for me.
