Coupling sizing

    I am trying to work out how the shaft, coupling and pot all connect together. I have a 12mm shaft in the gearbox. Have ordered some of these

    I have read the relevant threads but still don't understand how it connects together. The pot diameter day 7/8" and the the coupler days 6.35mm x 12mm. Have I ordered the wrong size?

    So I will work ok then? The shaft of the pot goes inside the coupling bit does not touch it? have never had any experience with these parts and is hard to visualize how it all works just going off YouTube videos. Also with the postage times it is a pain to order the wrong part and then wait another month for the right part.
