Thanks historiker! (I do appreciate the thought, but I returned them. I don't think ray liked it). I can pay for what ever I need. Like I said Ray, I didn't download anything, and what's up with the Dislike on my post here? What was there to dislike? Me asking a question?. I came to this forum to share some of my ideas and to hear others thoughts. I had a whole new design for a motion platform. I thought some of you would be interested in it. I wasn't looking for a handout, or trying to get my hands on your secrets. I think I am starting to dislike you Ray.
You act like a child, what are you 12?

@BADDERICK the coin system is designed to make people to get involved here on site and not just to use us a repositry to download and run.
All post help new members to design their own systems and fix any issue they may have. We all learn together.
This not designed to make money actually all funds go back into supporting the website and to bring better support to all the members as a whole.
We help each other to grow and learn.
You will not find another sim community where this is so.

I agree Badderick, as a matter of fact I do not think that normal, in thread, attachments should be charged for. If I upload an attachment, say the layout of my pit, or dimensions of my frame, I did so to share without cost. I completely understand the desire to charge coins for SimTools plugins in order to promote participation though.

Hey guys, yes you are right, it should be made more clear that downloading attachment costs coins. One important note: You can download attachments even when your balance is negative. So that will never be a problem, only a "problem" for heavy duty downloaders to get enough coins for the download section of simtools plugins.

Here you find a better explained reason why there are coins invested for downloading attachments:

Chumet, I so wish that I had moderator privileges...you would feel a ban hammer coming. And considering my opinion on the effort to gain coins that really is saying something....

I get the aim, to increase participation. However, correct me if I am wrong but you can download at least some attachments without logging in and thus not costing coins, for example bsft's image here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/desk-racer-2-dof.91/

Just a suggestion but perhaps attachment access needs to be linked with logged in membership. That may also help boost member registrations.

Glad i found this topic. I had been watching and wondering what those coins were all about.
My count had been going up slowly then a huge jump. Seems that some nice fella must have sent me a gift, now to find out who it was and send them a virtual beer.

    Back again :p
the points system seems a novel idea and i see how they work, bugger mine have gone up so fast :D
I have yet to find anything that explains the points. Mine stayed at 3 for quite a while and then jumped to 8 :think
    what function do they serve.
