The cross rods to stop any pivot rotation is a nice safety factor, but if uni mounts top and bottom are set in nice and rigid they are not really needed, to keep a peace of mind, a good idea to include.

If you are only building a seat mover like the SimX unit then the scn5's are adequate for what you need.

Hi , I'm using 150mm scn5 actuators with the correct angles and dimensions with a UJ pivot. I have just added a Fanatec hand brake and gear shifter to the seat frame. Now my rig cannot initialise with simtools, the seat seams to be to heavy for the actuators at this initialisation stage. I have tested the actuators with the dyadic software and the actuators are ok. Any thoughts.
    Thanks

I would not think the small increase in weight would be an issue, hence I would look for USB software, bandwidth or conflict issues that may affect whatever controllers you are using.

Thanks noorbeast, I think I will hunt around for other control software. It seams to me that the actuators need more umph to initialise now. The new fanatec gearshift is quite a beast and is attached to the left of the seat hence the right actuator goes full length then nothing. Is there a gain I could increase inside Simtools for the initialisation and centering stage?.
