Well here we go… The start of our 2DOF project. We (well, mostly I really) have been thinking of several ways of making our simulator and looked at a lot of examples. Thanks to all who have posted their information to the forum.

I have been following the following posts from kevin http://www.x-simulator.de/forum/sim-racing-project-2dof-k8055-sabertooth-2x12-stage-2-t3898.html and adbgg http://www.x-simulator.de/forum/k8055-sabertooth-wiper-motors-t2883.html; thank you very much for your posts. also BSFT for his advice on mounting the seat and other issues.

My kids and I have put together the following racing rig during the summer, just to get reacquainted with the tools.

Now the trick is to get it moving. :D As a platform, I am using Floriske.nl's model who in turn is based on Deriy's. :D

I have received the Sabertooth 2X12A and put together a K8055 (I was unable to find one already assembled locally) and located a PC power supply capable of handling 12V and 32A.

I believe this will be enough to run both motors but I will be installing a circuit breaker just in case. I will be working on the circuit over the next couple of days and I hope to keep good records of the build so maybe I can help newbies like me get started on this hobby. Until then, Cheers.
