It's been a while since I updated this thread, but the work has not stopped.
    I introduce the box-steel H-shifter. All hand-made.
I'm using it for a few months now and I can say it's indestructible.
60x60mm and 20x30mm box steel of 2mm wall thickness was used.

I had the chance to order a batch of CNC milled carbon fiber sheet thanks to a friend who manufactures quadcopter frames.
It was time to add some buttons and a new, more silent magnetic shifter to my steering wheel.
An arduino micro is on the back side in shrink tube. The wires are from an old USB cable and the spiral cord is of a handset from a broken desktop telephone. The connector is a 4-pole GX12.
Sound dampening is achieved by automotive bandage tape.
The paddles (not on the pictures) are 3D printed and follow the design of the Porsche GT3 CUP.
All of it total was less than 70 euros.
