    Lol.. nothing. its called Wallpaper..
Its an old habit of mine. I always have a .bmp that I edit on ms paint and save as wallpaper.
its a great way to handle your projects etc.
But if you are looking for a real app, try "fances" they're great.

I'de be honored :) you can also find the servo equivalent for actuators on thingiverse. They're really cute.

Also, would love to try your FlyPT. I'm building this for EliteDangerous, so it looks right up my ally.
    Once it actually works..

    And.. It doesn't work.
All seems fine, all light are green, but something doesn't connect.
Before posting: - I've checked my default language - set to English.
I have no active firewall/anivirus, both game, engine, simulator and arduino are on the same pc,
    and it's a "Standalone".

So.. why doesn't the game sends the output? :-(

Did you run a race in first person mode before patching for motion, as it generates some required files.

If not Then un-patch, close down SimTools, run a race then re-patch.

Typical. Went for the heavy lifting before doing the obvious.
    Yes. Thank you. It worked.
Totally tore away half my servo arms, but that's just tuning.

    It's ALIVE !!! MU-Ha-ha-ah..
Now of to print some new arms, define some limits, and fine tune the rig.
After that - start measuring for space, and read about real motors :)))))

    Short update -
Found a chair. Literally. In the street. broken, but fixable.
(Actually a friend found it for me..)
Also got some aluminum bars for a nice price from (the same ) friend.

Next few days will be to to clean the bars, fix the chair,
and clean up a bit of the mess in the work room.

Also, some of the MM arrived, and 3 new Arduinos are here,
    so that needs soldering also.

I've been reading quite a lot about motors,
but most posts seem to be from earlier years.
The next reasonable step would be to order one motor,
with one gearbox, and test the arduino-mm setup.

So - what would be a good price-to-power motor to get?
any threads I should specifically look at?
Help on this issue would be welcomed.

by the way - what are these for? (Leds?) and why doen't anyone solder them? (if they are, indeed, leds)
    (couldn't find anything on google. o_O )

So.. I've been off for a while.
The work-room has went some modifications, so there will be room for the new platform,
and I had some time and got some wood, so why the hack not. -built a mockup- :-D

    progress pics -
The chair (Karma, found on street, base is broken, needs welding when I'll have the time)
took off the base, marked the center, shifted to COG, and placed some metal pieces,
that will hold it on the frame. 20190701_101040.jpg 20190701_101132.jpg 20190710_104935.jpg 20190710_120407.jpg

    next - Build the frame.
I went for a low profile, minimalist frame, with a low COG.
reinforced with some brackets, and than changed the (originally) vr cable management, to a "hang-weight test" to see that it holds etc. pic_1.jpg pic_2.jpg pic_3.jpg pic_4.jpg pic_5.jpg pic_6.jpg pic_7.jpg

next step is to reproduce it in aluminum, and awaiting reply from a company about the motors+worm gear..
Need to catch-up on my reading regarding MM with 12V, 24V, and to read the testing post by silent.
(aluminum weight test teaser pic added :) )

meanwhile, the soldered aluminum base got back,
and I've enlisted the help of a friend to create some 30-60-45-90 profile angles.
first step - make a slice, print it, slide it to see that it works.
(I do not expect the printed pieces to hold the actual rig,
I do expect them to help spread the forces on the angles)

Having trouble sourcing 12V motors with worm gear locally.
When was the last time the FAQ resources updated?
is there a new list/motor suggestion out there?

    *update*
I really know nothing about motors..
found one of these on amazon - motor
Will it do? Any other recommendations?

The motor you linked is too low powered, but there would be others available via Amazon and Alien express.

These ship worldwide from Canada and have been used by many members, but you could look for similar spec motors from other vendors:

    25:1 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/GEAR-MOTOR...384?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51bd392f00

    50:1 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/GEAR-MOTOR...L-FEED-SIMULATOR-75-80RPM-50-1-/371596157992?

The FAQs will only be updated on member recommendations, it is not maintained by checking various vendors.

I like where this post is heading. Any similar posts that have matured more that you reccommend?
There's so much information on this forum it's pretty hard to grasp for a beginner.
