Lol Futaba Connector's to the rescue. I already soldered up mine by the time i found that out. However i'm not particularly concerned as those pins are well protected and Nothing really Sticks out.

I just found some old PC motherboard connectors and CD audio cables. I sanded one of them down from 10 pin to 8 pin and now I have all the connectors I need. I'll take a few pics today and post them up later.

I have got my power lines connected up to my power supplies now.
And I've decided that for potentiometers I'm going to use Bourne 6639S-1-502.

I just need to find somewhere selling them with good P+P costs. I found one place that charges £20 for 3 pots. Another that charges £12 but free postage over £50 so I can actually buy 5 of them for less than the cost of 4 + shipping.

Is your 21x21 is it a perfect fit or could it be bigger? I've found 22x22x10 and 28x28x13 ones like you linked in US.

My customs bill has arrived. I never thought I'd be happy to say that. :) :)

I'll get it paid today and my motors should be here in a couple of days and then I can get started properly.

Sorry for my lack of updates. Lost my job so I've been trying to basically get lots of projects done around the house and get some other work out of the way.
Anyway, look what arrived. Time for me to finally get some work done on the frame.

Sorry to hear you've lost your job @Barry, but I like your positive attitude. Good luck with finding a new one.

Thanks Mike. For now I'm having fun and enjoying my free time. I have some freelance web design work now for a while which will keep me busy but i'd rather be in my garage messing around with cars and helping other people out with installing extras into theirs like air ride and cruise control etc.

Hi @Barry that's the same lazy susan bearing I used. Very effective! I originally used castors on the rear of the sim but it would hardly move me. I changed them for in-line skate wheels with bearings and now I get thrown from side to side no bother.

Excellent info. I was going to use skateboard wheels but I think in-line skate wheels would be much better.

Hello guys, I wanted to ask a few questions: @Barry @AceOfSpies
I have seen the swivel to the loss of traction, how does cm tall? and then I did not understand what kind of wheels you put on the back? you can put a picture I'm very interested.

@Barry Engines that you bought did you find them in europe ?? how much they cost you?

I have found these http://www.ebay.it/itm/25-1-MCP-4-G...al_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item19d5f00f2f and the same seller that you bought the engines?

    Thanks in advance

I bought my motors from canada. If you search ebay for crab motors you will find them. I just done a deal with the seller for 3 of them. I was going to buy the gearboxes like you posted but the motors would still have to come from overseas so it was cheaper for me to buy the full package from ebay from canada.

For the traction loss the bearing is only about 20mm tall and the wheels from inline skates will depend how you mount them and how you make your frame.

    Wheels are from these.

I wish I knew Nick. I keep going into my garage and standing there looking at the steel and aluminium wondering where to start. I think I'll try to get the power supplies and electronics mounted onto something first and then work from there. I've had loads of small projects holding me back lately and work for other people but I should be able to get somewhere after this weekend. I have 2 car shows this weekend and after they're done it's full steam ahead.

With the frame I think I'll go with the pivot for traction loss mounted as far forward as possible. As flat a frame as possible for the base and the back rolling on in-line skate wheels (traction loss). I have a bit of a mount made for the seat base which I'll get some pics of today hopefully. But I need to finish it. I broke a couple of drill bits lately which I need to replace to finish that part. The seat mounts at the top will be shoulder mounted for the 2dof motors. Even thinking about it again is exciting. I'm off to the garage to try and get something done (even if it just means clearing it up so I have room to work).
