ATS has change the map scale starting in the current beta, which has the effect of lengthening roads and opening up space for future growth: http://www.pcgamer.com/american-truck-simulators-expanded-map-is-now-available-in-open-beta/

If you want to test it out then to access the beta branch: Right-click the ATS entry in your Steam library, select Properties, then the Betas tab, and then "public_beta – 1.5 public beta" from the dropdown menu. Beta means there may be a few bugs!

Thanks for the heads up Noorbeast. I've been waiting for the rescale to finally get everything setup with the instructions on making the ETS2 plugin work. ATS is a lot of fun, but the scale of the game was too tight for what I expected driving out west to be like.
