I am new, but from what I can ascertain there is no way to download the FSX plugin and or how in the heck do I get "coins" to do so. Am I correct in my understanding that the FSX plug in costs money?

    Hi Vassago !Welcome to XSimulator.net.

You earn coins by participation in the forums, each post gains you a small amount and a new thread gains you more. You can create a thread and tell us about your build and what you want to achieve.

You can of course also buy a coin package with real money but there is no reason to, with a few pertinent posts you will have enough to download the plugins. Please do not spam threads though, that will go against your count (I believe).

    You can read more here:

Weclcome @Vassago start your own build post even if its about your dream sim we can advise quickly on which steps to take, it doesnt take long before you able to (have enough coins) download SimTools and the Plugin you require, plus you will find friends too that will guide you along.

Basically start talking and be involved, even if its just a couple of jokes or wacky videos in our offtopic area, all earn you coins to download with.
We only placed this into the forum to stop people just downloading and running, we all learn about sims together and grow, its not designed to make money but on the other hand if you dont want to talk and discuss things then buy a coin package and you dont have too.
The easiest option is just to become involved. No question is considered wrong or silly mate.

That sounds fair enough. I have already started cruise the forums and donate what knowledge I have. This site is packed full of info. From the looks of it no matter what problems I have building this motion platform there will be many brains to pick for information.

I join in a search for a good DIY sim building community.
Although I have not started building I am still confused as hell.

Don't worry there is lots of help here and even a "newbie to motion" like myself is starting to get a good handle on it.

Hey James, if you have already started or are about to start building your platform you might start a new thread in the area that BSFT (Dave) linked you to. That way you can ask questions and get advice from the many members here who want to help. It is also a good way to generate coins so you can download the plugins. Pictures and diagrams also help a great deal, even if they are simple MS Paint sketches.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing your dream become reality (ok, that sounded corny even to me but you get my meaning, lol).

Yes I agree so that is what i have done.

    http://www.xsimulator.net/community...ng-anyone-chiming-in-with-help-is-great.5315/

Its the most basic of 3 dof I can think of also looks easily convertable to a 2 dof.

Building and modifing frames is the easy part. understanding the motors and how to connect/comunicate with the pc is the hard part.

    Hi Everyone.

My name is Barry and I'm from Northern Ireland. I'm a bit of a petrolhead and I love my VWs, new and old.

Professionally I'm a web developer and I currently develop in Javascript and PHP. I've always had an interest in electronics but never really had the chance to practice with them other than when I've been working on car electrics.

I've been wanting to build a simulator for some time now but never really had the guts or the knowledge to go ahead with it. Now that I've found this forum I'm wondering how I missed it before. It's an amazing wealth of knowledge and you have all inspired me to get involved and get started on my project. I'm looking forward to learning some new stuff and hopefully making some new friends.
