    Hello,
I joined some years ago when building my static sim rig.
Now I'm working on a motion sim rig so this time I may be a little more active on your community.
You really have a lot of experience gathered! I have been browsing for a while but I still have a lot of reading left to do. Over time, I hope to be able to contribute as well.

I plan to use a ecomatController from ifm electronic in combination with Cytron motor drivers to control brushed DC motors.
Mechanically my plan is to build a steward platform with linear actuators in a open design.
By "open" I mean that the ball screw rod itself is the supporting construction.
I've not found any similar constructions already made so that makes me wonder if I'm on the way of doom.

    Best regards
    Kenneth from Falkenberg, Sweden.

Hi, My name is Marto. I stumbled upon this website when I was looking for any affordable car simulator. After reading some of the articles, I'm getting more interested as apparently you guys have built your own simulator. Reading some of those articles, I am amazed with all your talents. Well done guys !!!

For me, I am still contemplating to build the simulator. I want to try, but not sure where to start because I know little about motor, hardware, electronics or mechanical parts. Building this simulator might be a good ways to learn all these stuffs.

    Hello Everybody,
another not so newbie here. My name is Tobias and I have been a unregistered reader over the years and decided now to be part of this phantastic community. My main interest is building and optimizing my driving simulator, but I also want to use it to fly on occasions. My latest interest is building a pneumatic G-Seat for my rig. I am not an engineer or technician from origin, but like to discover new grounds and feel that this community is the right place to be.

I also need a first help, as I probably put my first posting: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...-seat-with-retrofit-lumbar-support-kit.17051/ in the wrong forum, so maybe @noorbeast if needed, can you move it to the right place - thank you!

Hi, you can call me Joe from Michigan. Been a member for awhile but I am now ready for the rubber to meet the road. I am a wood worker and retired professional real-time programmer. So the SMC3 route is a good fit and not my first Arduino project.

I will post a build thread on my wood "backbone" rig. When it comes to actually controlling the motors and knowing what motors to buy ($$$$) I will need the benefit of your experience. I am familiar now with SMC3 and am curious if there are other alternatives I should look at?

Hi, I am Kevin from Colorado. I have been interested in adding more realism to my games, mostly Flight Simulator, but I also want to do some racing. The idea of adding motion is exciting! I have been reading a lot of build threads and can't wait to start mine, but need to do more planning first, learning the software, etc.

I am so impressed with what I am seeing so far, I hope I can come close that what others have been able to accomplish.

I am thinking of doing a 2DOF build to start, just to keep things simple. (lol, like it's really going to be simple...) I like the seat-mover builds with wheelchair motors a lot, similar to @scruck, @SaintFrank and @Arielnac.

I hope supply-chain issues don't derail my plans!

    Welcome @Joe Cortexian.

The are other alternative possibilities but SMC3 has a lot of advantages, but that is a question for your build thread, which I am looking forward to following, so all information related to your project is in one place.
