    Hi all,
I'm a retired teacher and muso In Tasmania, Australia who's into flight sims and rc model airplanes these days. I had a PPL, mainly flying gliders, but had to hand it in due medical issues some years ago. Just getting into designing and building my own motion rig for Flight Sim 2020. I have experience with building astronomical telescope mounts many years ago so the fabrication part is OK for me, I just need to learn what components work best etc. I'll start off with 2 degrees of freedom with the 3rd degree as an option in the design for later. Anyway, glad to be here and learn from the community. :)

Hello very good, I am Javier. From Spain. I am 40 years old, when I was little I always wanted to have a simulator, but when you are young you don't have money and when you get older you don't have time ... anyway.
Now I have decided to leave time for myself and my hobbies and I am starting a 2dof project, I really like simracing as it passes time, nothing to compete and it serves as a distraction, greetings to all.

Hello everyone, I registered on the forum very recently, I left my project for a few years on hold after buying metal edges with SCN5 jacks. I took over the assembly about 2 months ago in order to finish it. I finished the support of the steering wheel and the system of the crankset which move forward and backward. The triple screen works now and I will start the configuration of the cylinders I chose Simtools to make them work, hoping it will work well.

Please start your own thread and tell us a bit about your rig, photos/videos would be appreciated, as members here would be very interested.

Hi everyone. I just registered today but, have been lurking for sometime. My rig is a completely custom one off build that I’ve been tinkering with for a few years now. It was never meant to include motion mostly because I never thought I’d be able to afford it. Recently decided however, to take on the sfx100 challenge after much research and deliberation. This forum appears to be the go to source for info on the subject. Much thanks in advance for all the help!

Hey everyone! Ben here from the Netherlands.
I've been simracing for the past 1.5 years. Also built my own custom aluminium profile rig.
I stumbled upon this website and after reading some of your build logs the tinkering bug struck again! So I'll start with a simple seat mover and check if my body can handle the motion (I'm a chronic pain patient) and if so, who knows where it will end!
I hope I'll have something to show in the near future!

    Welcome @Razortiburon

Chronic pain could be a challenge when it comes to motion sims, more so for race than flight simulation.

    Hi Everyone ,

I allready posted some questions , but didn't introduce myself.:blush
I'm Frank, 52 years , from the Netherlands , and still in very early stage of building/buying a motion sim.

I build a scale model of 2dof and testing things out with simtools and arduino.
If I get that working smoothly, I'll make a decision on DIY or buying.

My main use for a sim will be flying (ms flightsimulator , elite dangerous.)
But like a little racing for fun aswell.

Like to read all the info on this very helpfull and friendly forum.
and hope I can make some contribution in the future.

    Hi all.
I'm Michiel. 39 years young from the netherlands.
I work as a technical drafter.

I would like to build me myself a 6dof rig. Or at least give it a decent shot.
I really feel in love with the combination of mechanic, electronic, software and gaming.

For the time being I wil mostly be lurking around
and gathering info for my design.

I hope to enjoy this forum.

    Welcome @Savage.

Any 6DOF is an ambitious first project. So doing some research before getting in any deeper is time well spent.

Use the Enhanced Google Search on the Recent page to find the latest member 6DOF projects, as there have been many refinements to how members build 6DOF rigs.

Hi, I'm a new user, my name's Margherita. I found this site searchig on google about 4dof simulators because I want to build my own one. There're lots of exciting projects here from which I can get inspiration for my project. I think it won't be easy as it's the first time I have tried such a thing. Thank you for making your knowledge available.

Hello everyone, my name is Miguel and I am new to the community, I have dared to build a 2 dof system composed of an arduino uno board, 2 bridges bts7960,2 hall sensors, and motors of 75 rpm 24v each one powered with sources 24v 20A. The problem I have is that when I connect to the SMC 3 it only detects one motor. I have checked the wiring and jumpers h and every motor in part and it works. I need an idea to help me figure this out. Greetings to everyone, and thanks.
