    Dear All,

after being a silent member for some time, it is finally time to introduce myself.

My name is Markus and I'm living in Bremen, Germany.

I am not a particular racing or flight simulator enthusiast, but I am really fascinated by virtual reality in general.
After playing around with the Oculus Rift for some time (sitting at my desk, getting motion sickness, but still enjoying the experience), I thought about further increasing the feeling of immersion.
Well, and a motion simulator seems to be something that's worth trying. So here I am.

My goal is building a 2 DOF seat mover, driven by 2 JRK 12v12 controllers, plus 1 additional JRK for providing some airstream.
The software I am planning to start with is the NoLimits 2 Rollercoaster.

Three days ago I started building a kind of model prototype with my good old Fischertechnik collection that I did not touch for about 35 years :). The reason is simply that I want to get an understanding of the entire system before spending weeks or months of building a rig and then perhaps getting stuck with something. (This did not stop me from already buying most of the needed components, like wiper motors, a powerful power supply, a cardan joint, etc.)

So I soldered the JRKs, built the Fischertechnik seat mover, configured the JRKs via the JRK Configuration Utility, and did some configurations with SimTools. I also patched the NoLimits Rollercoaster, but that's what I am still working on. Guess it will need some more days until one of my daughter's plush toys becomes my test pilot.

    So far for now.

    Best regards,
    Markus

    Like all of you,
I find myself itching to build a simulator. I am a big DIY'er from mechanical to electronics perspective. I have a past in racing and take my car on the track from time to time but the simulator games have gotten to such a high level of accuracy that i feel it is time for me to take on this project in order to really get the feel as best as possible. I am still in the process of researching and gathering parts as of now but will be getting started soon I hope.:):D:D

    Hi Pari,

I already have some 12V wiper motors. I can post photos and types/descriptions within the next days, but I will do this in my building thread. It is titled "JRK 12v12 Based 2 DOF Seat Mover". Please have a look there. (I will probably need some days, since I am very busy the rest of this week.)

    Hello!

I searched the net a soft that allows me to obtain LFS data so far have nothing physically since 4 years stop working on the simulator. I have looked for ways to make a force feedback steering wheel, I am very interested in (simtools) and the hardware that I've thought the same data delivery simtools RS232 for engines make an algorithm to send data to engine FFB. Upload hope soon and if I can help with LFS plugins.
sorry for my English, it will improve thanks translator google hahaha XD

    thanks for the great community!

SimTools itself is not really designed for FFB support. Instead have a look at the software used by OpenSimWheel for both calibration and FFB.

You can find wheel related topics here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steering-wheels.65/

Please don't post the same thing in multiple places, it makes it difficult to follow if there are different responses to the same thing in two different places. I have responded here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/new-user.7706/

    Hey everyone,

fairly new to the whole simulator thing - I love to play racing games and tinker with Arduinos in my free time. After some research, I found this site and thought I should register because there are a lot of friendly and helpful people here and tons of advice.

Looking forward to built my first motion seat :)
