Has anyone built a 3 DOF motion platform and added traction loss to yaw only the seat? It would seem to require less of an actuator, less structure and be cheaper to build.

Yaw, which rotates around a central point, and traction loss, which pivots near your feet, are 2 different forces, so can you clarify a bit more, perhaps including a sketch of what you have in mind.

It’s just an idea at this point. I originally envisioned using a gaming desk chair with the base cut off. It wouldn’t take a lot of force to rotate the chair on its bearings. After your comment about yaw rotating about the feet, I need to rethink the hinge point.

    Thanks for your reply.
