I have been taking a bit more notice of 3D printing projects since ordering mine and I have just come upon this project to 3D print a full size DB4 plug to make a fiberglass replica, the complete body has already been printed and assembled: http://replicadb4.com/

Unreal. Until I started printing my own stuff I couldn't have appreciated the effort, time, and money that this represents.

I wonder how hard it would be to print a 1:1 Lotus Type 49...

    Nice!

@noorbeast - You may also interested in "Lost Plastic" casting. I've been watching a few channels, with interest, on this.
Basically, you print a 3D part, make a mould with it and pour in molten metal to cast the part in metal.

    It's pretty awesome stuff.
