I had an idea for a long time to make an F1 wheel. You can come up with it completely yourself or use existing designs and adjust them where necessary.
After looking at different designs, I came across thningiverse (credits to this guy: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4058270).
So warm up the 3D printer, order parts and build.
What I did is, printed the 3D parts in PETG (I always wanted to try it and it's stronger than PLA). I divided the housing because it didn't fit on my printbed.
For the frame I used what I had laying arround and that was Trespa (used in construction).
I used MMJOY2 software on a Arduino clone to control the buttons. This is really fantastic and you can program anything with it.
for the finish touch I used black spray paint and carbon sticker :grin

i also printed some adapters for my G25 RIG, so i can change the wheels:thumbs

It works great with the game i play (Assetto Corsa), and i use it on my 2Dof rig:cool:
