WTF. One Qumi Q7 has run into the next issue: no green colour any more.........:( Tomorrow I will get VIVITEK shutter glasses, wanted to try out them using triple screens and now I can wait for the repair one or two weeks...

CryingSmileySmall.gif You really seem to have no luck with these Qumis!

No :-/ The LED light source should have an estimated life of 30,000 hours. That works out for almost fourteen years...lol. But if the LEDs fail, it is very expensive to replace them. I am really afraid that after a really short time the second Qumi fails.

Back again. For those who are interested to be informed about the latest news ;)

As written above, I got VIVITEK active shutter glasses.

First impression: relatively cheap plastic, but a good deal bigger than nvidia 3d vision and lighter, at least supported by nvidia 3DTV play.

Unfortunately one of the glasses stopped shuttering already after one hour.... No 3D content on the left side anymore.

Do not know what happens, but so many fails in short order I never had before.

in deed no mechanical problems, no issues, no stops, no part replacement. I am a little bit proud about that. At least successfully building a rig would not be able without this community :)

Update. I have to correct myself. Funnily enough the VIVITEK glasses are working, but not with the VIVITEK projectors for the moment. Using 3D Vision and a BenQ W700 I have to cover by the hand or to hide the transmitter to get them working like a charm. In comparison with the nvidia glasses they are a little darker (really hardly) but have a better contrast. Conversely the VIVITEK glasses are flickering a very little bit while the nvidia glasses are almost completely steady.

I have to point out one really nice feature of the 3d vision in combination with a triple screen: the convergence.

The convergence point defines the center of the game btw of the car. The results are very impressive and did not realize before due to this option is disabled by default by nvidia in the driver panel. As a result of this I have to edit my conclusions about the 3d vision in the other thread.

Once again I have to correct myself, the VIVITEK glasses are "nearly" working, but definitely not correctly. So weird...

Keep the tips coming @Pit. One of my play toys for my new sim is a BenQ ultra short throw projector that I want to test 3D with.

No painting and sanding yet, no case and no design. I will give a repaint later if all is working fine.
I do not know if my experiment will work...this evening I will know more  (or not). There is something missing, without it no traction loss would make it possible. Could you imagine what it could be? :)

[Quite right! You are the winner :cheers And it works in deed. The winches makes a very big noise, the other ones are less noisy especially because I tuned them a little bit (more grease inside). There is more optimizing potential for harder turns but I am on track :)

Unfortunately it is loud but it will be better when I changed the plate where the winch is mounted (stone instead of wood) and opened the winch for greasing the planetary gearbox. These correctives result in less noise.
