    thnx dave for your interest . want to ask you what about winches dave? and is motor with 24v stronger than 12v motor or all depending on the GEARBOX. and if it's yes what about 36v or more dc motors and if jrk can deal with this motors?

    Stick with 12v motors on the JRKS. You could use winches, but they are noisy and you would need to cover them. Dont try to run 24v motors on 12v because of "strength"
    The 60:1 boxes will do in shoulder mount configuration.
    Id suggest build a sim, set it up in shop and run it for a few months to check things before you go onto converting the rest.

    the noise is big problem for me becouse of the place rules.what about AC motors like speedy module and if it make noise or not. other problem speedy said before he ran live for speed in other sim software and i don't know if it's easy in configuration or not and if it can run other apps like DIRT2 , rFactor,CAR PROJECT or not.need small answer from our close friend speedy and if i think it can carry heave weights too?
    i'll make next week a new design for 12v motor with as u told me dave a shoulder mount configuration as you advise me and will see.thnx for your helpful points. takecare.

    You would find shoulder mount design with DC motors as@bsft suggested with 60:1 are pretty, quite and simple to manage safely.

    To me simulating heave is an unnecessary complication for drift. If anything sway would be far more advantageous.

    Have a look at the chart I posted, the torque depends on the gearbox ratio.

    well what your opnion about model no# 19 .
    12v and have 45 NM torque which i think it's enough to load more weight. but you and bsft said before go for shoulder mount with ratio of 60:1
    this motor have 75:1 and the speed of the gearbox is 45 rpm. have to order this or go to more gearbox speed?

    Not for sheer lift, they will not do it. Use 240v motors.
    And do not run 12v through a 24v motor, waste of time

    You ask about differences in 12, 24 and 36 volt dc motors. As far a power is concerned, a motor rated at 1hp (750w) for example at a given voltage should output 1hp at that voltage regardless of what the voltage is. In other words, they all should have (more or less) the same power output at their stated voltages. The difference is the current drawn. A 24v 1hp motor should draw about one-half the current a 12v 1hp motor does. Why is this important? There is resistance to current flowing in a wire. This resistance causes heat. If the heat cannot dissipate quickly enough, it will build up in the wire, which can eventually cause the wires insulation to malfunction and possibly short (burn thru) the wire itself. Since using lower voltage requires more current to achieve the same power output, larger wires must be used than when using higher voltages. This is not only more expensive for the wiring itself, but larger wires can also be more difficult to route. Also, motor drivers are limited in the current they can output. So if your motor driver can do 24v and 12v, using 24v will in essence double the amount of power you can have over using 12v.

    Ps From my experience, worm gear motors should not be used to achieve heave. While they are available with 1hp or more, the design of the gearing is insufficient to hold up to the abuse; at least when you are using a spirited heave as in racing.

    Lots of motion, which I think would be OK for a flight sim, but a bit much for a race sim. Not sure I fancy clambering on a chair to get on a sim though.
