Farout!!! I take it that you have been doing this for a while now.:D
    That is actually quite impressive.

I am only on my second sim.

    Here is my first attempt:

And this is what I'm currently using. But this one has had a few upgrades along the way.

There is lots to like on your current sim but the roll cage screen braces are just awesome!

    Thank you guys.
@bsft do you think so? I don't have a motion sim let alone 14 of them!
@noorbeast the 'roll cage' over the top makes it really easy to get in and out of the sim. They are great handles!

Very professional work @GIB SimRacing - I can't wait to see the grin you will get on your face when you move it!

When I flicked the switch on mine I felt like I was launching the shuttle.
Mixture of nervousness, waiting for a BANG! and smoke, and the giddiness of a child on Christmas morning.

I kid you not... it's that awesome!

Thank you very much Alexey and Archie.

And @Archie, when I read your description of what you felt after the first time you turned your system on, I could actually picture myself with the very same emotions when I get to that point.
In fact, I am already giggling just thinking about the fact that I'm actually building a motion sim.
Good thing I have ears, otherwise I would grin in a complete circle.:D

@Alexey what are you talking about? Your pedals and shifters alone blow my stuff out of the water!!! What you built is seriously impressive!:thumbs

Ok, I will have to go with the 25:1 gearboxes for the motors. This means a shoulder mount setup for me.
I have quickly made this sketch to show you guys what I have planned.

I do have a question though. I am unsure of what height to connect the motors to the rods. I hope my sketch makes sense.

Should I attach the motors above, centre or below the uni joint pivot?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Also I hope the angles are good as they would fit relatively nicely to my current frame.

Below and the uni joint should be as close to the seat as possible.

Thanks @noorbeast . Do you think it would be enough if I was to attach 100mm below the uni joint pivot?

Yes, as long as that adequately allows for the planned range of movement.

You did build that sim that you are using at the moment right? Pedals are nothing if you don't have a sim to use them in!

@GIB SimRacing - who was your supplier for the Aluminum Checker plate?

So far Bunnings seem to be the the only source, but it ain't cheap!

If you know what you are looking for and keep an eye out for offcuts then Ebay can be a good source for aluminum plates.
