    Hello,

I just completed my first motion rig build. At first I thought using the Frex SimMOTION-2 usb adapter (1 USB to 2 Serial Adapter) was not going to work because everybody says each SCN5 needs its own USB adapter. However, in the control panel the USB adapter showed 2 com ports and I was able to make it work. I did all the tests as in the Simtools quick documentation, even loaded up Assetto Corsa and driving with the mouse to see how the actuators move.

But, when all of my other sim peripherals (wheels OSW, Pedals, Buttonbox, Oculus Rift CV1) are connected and I start GameEngine to test drive myself, only 1 Actuator initialized. Which means only 1 SCN5 detected by Simtools. I managed to restart once and both worked fine this time. But this is short lived as when I realised my Roll DOF was inverted, I went and fixed the problem and restarted Game-Engine, only 1 actuator was detected. and I could not make both work again.

This only happens if I connect the above peripherals, now I have disconnected everything except the USB to serial adapters and both actuators work fine even after restarting GameEngine repeatedly.

What can I do before purchasing another USB adapter. Did I miss some important steps to configure of the COM ports? Do I need to optimise the COM ports settings such as Baud Rate etc?..

    Regards

It doesn't look like you missed anything.
Seems strange that they both work on 2 com ports, but not if other usb devices are plugged in.

What you could try is after inserting the other USB's, is to then make sure both com ports are listed in the game engine where you set them up. Its probably not this, but as nobody has answered who knows a lot more than me, then worth a try for now.
