I tested the motor it's fine. later I will test with another MMs, supposed that's the reason.

when I tested in "SMC3Utils v1.01" with output mode SINE the SIM works, never brake.
But when I tested "output testing" in SIMtools, it's very sensitive to reach the limit and brake. I need conect the motor directly to the PSU to reverse it.

When I test with LFS which is include, the SIM didn't work, some thing more do I need config?

Max limits setting (SMC3 setup) should be less than the clip limits. Usually max limits would be lass than 10. If the pots get to this max limit the motor is shut down. I think that may be your problem.

Can SIMtool v1.3 works on Window 10? My OS is windows 10.

My LFS still can not work with SIM, in the quick guide requirement mentioned Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, exclude Windows 10, is this the reason?

SimTools works fine with Win 10, the documentation has been around for ages and has just not been updated since Win 10 came out.

Your issue will not be Win 10.

What are your interface settings in simtools, make sure smc3 utils is closed.

smc3 utils is closed, I can perform output testing in simtools. so the interface setting should be OK.

when I start LFS, the RX LED in Ard is light but TX LED is off. when I quit LFS, RX LED turn off.

I attached some configuration picture, please your help to check, thanks very much. @bruce stephen @noorbeast

Have you setup the Simtools Tuning Center values - you didn't post a screenshot of them?

Also is your windows setup with region/language US English - Simtools has a problem with some languages.

From the screenshots the first thing you need to fix is the known DPI bug: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/game-manager-dpi-fixes.123/

Next up your Axis % allocation totals are too high: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/axis-assignment-percentage-totals.120/

If output testing works then it would seem a configuration issue. Did you run a couple of laps in LFS before you patched it, as LFS first needs to generate the base files. If not unpatch, run some laps and then re-patch.

Once you get it moving it pays to tweak the motion profile one axis/force at a time: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

I ran a couple of laps in LFS after patch LFS, this should be the reason.

I just uppatch LFS, ran LFS and then patch again, now it's works. thanks all. I will continue test Axis assignment.

Hi all, I contact a seller recommended in forum in alibaba, below is the specification he sent to me.

Is it necessary order the faster motor with 120RPM, but about 18 N*m?
60RPM is enough for my 6DOF or not?

Personally I think the higher torque will be useful and 60 RPM will be fine.

Mine is 41 rpm. 60 is ok. Use a longer lever if you want it to go faster (torque is sacrificed).

How much it charges the seller for 6 motors and shipping to Chile?

    Update:

I have bought some spart part to improve my model sim, now it works better. I record a video(roll, pitch, heave, yaw, sway, surge), please someone help to check how to optimize the axis assignment.

Motor left front >> axis 1
    motor left middle >>axis 2
motor left rear >> axis 3
motor right front >> axis 4
motor right middle >> axis 5
motor right rear >> axis 6

Question: the % of each axis and dof, I tried to modify it to see the affect, but I didn't found the rule, can someone teach me what is the function of it, and how to use this parameter. thansk in advance.

That's really good, I will be looking forward on your 6dof development. I hope I can start building mine soon.

I have played Project cars with OCULUS RIFT, but I feel serious VR motion sickness.

If play with OCULUS RIFT and 6DOF SIM, is it helpful for VR motion sickness anesis?

@SilentChill do you have some suggestion or experience? I see you have some video with VR, and also your sister played it.

Don't overdo it when you are first starting out in VR, otherwise you risk turning yourself into Pavlov's salivating dog!

A good motion sim and motion profile can help reduce VR sickness, as it provides additional cues for your brain that reinforce presence. A bad motion sim or profile will do the opposite. VR sickness is triggered when there is a mismatch between what the brain expects as signals and what it gets. Some people are far more sensitive than others, but even so can build up tolerance by doing short VR experiences that are not too intense.
