    Welcome @MSG.

Doing some research before getting in too deep is time well spent.

I had a second hand older PT Actuator motion rig a few years back, but sold it when I started a new job and moved... Wish I kept everything but the PT Actuator part LOL.
I had Simucube, a couple very nice Australian made wheels (two different brands), nice H shifter (can't remember the brand, but was miles better than Fanatec H shifter!), Jinx quickshifter, Heusinkveld Sprints, wind, etc)

P.S I had an account here (same name and email address I just used to sign up xD), but it may have been deleted due to inactivity of a few years idk

Hey Everyone. I'm Mark and I'm from Texas. I used to play sim games years ago before all of the equipment was a lot less sophisticated than what you can put together these. days. At this point I'm really just trying to learn and decide how I want to proceed to put together a nice system.

    Welcome @mpride.

There are so many possibilities, depending on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go.

Doing some research before getting in too deep is time well spent!

Bounce your plans and shopping list off members before ordering, as it can be an expensive if you get it wrong.

New to the page as well. I started the day planning on building a stationary seat for racing but I’ve been led down the motion rabbit hole. lol. What I plan on building is a 2DOF with traction loss. I plan on doing a frame with 1” steel tubing and welding it. I want to make it semi compact as well. Now is where all the time and research comes! After all day of researching and looking for things, I think I will use wheel chair motors. Now it’s off to the forums!

    My Motion Simulator:
    6DOF
G'day folks! Just decided to have a crack at building a 6DoF sim rig. I'm making a base and bolting an existing stationary sim rig to it. I have no experience, but have a mechanical background and roughly understand the concept. I'm hoping to fill in the blanks with the brains trust here as my weakness is programming the 3 arduino R3's and getting it all to talk nicely with Sim Tools. I still have a lot to do, like 3D printing mounts for the rotary encoder boards, and making final servo arms. I'm using 6x 24VDC 500W ebike motors with 10:1 inbuilt gearboxes, being driven by 3x 100A H bridge drivers controlled by 3x arduino R3's and AS5600 rotary encoders for positioning.
I Plan on supporting the "cradle" on 3x 700N gas springs to reduce the static load on the motors. (Don't look too closely at the welds. If ya squint, it's mint!).

If anyone has any tips, I'd be glad to hear them. See pics below...
