So I am very new to motion rigs and Simtools with 0 previous knowledge. I have watched some tutorials both on Youtube and the Forums, and i have running into some issues with both the software aswell with the rig.

1: How can i see/monitor the axis changes in Simtools? - Like yaw, pitch, heave, etc... Whenever im running the game with "Output testing" turned on with Game manager connected so is all of the axis still.

2: How is the Interface Settings supposed to be setup? - I have seen many use the "Serial Type", is that correct for my case? Im aware that the "COMPort" is supposed to be the same port connected to the Arduino. Main thing im wondering over is how to fix the "Interface Output", everyone writes like [A<Axis1a>], how does it work?

3: How do i connect Simtools with the Arduino? - Is there a special way to get a connection between the 2, or is it something with the code on the Arduino?

Any help or solution with the questions is highly appreciated

Just an observation, doing extensive research before diving in is a good idea, as it can save you time, money and a great deal of frustration.

Float your intended project ideas and any questions on your own dedicated build thread here, before ordering anything, and seek member views, feedback and guidance: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

You are using SimTools 2, but that is about to be superseded by SimTools v3 which is in the tail end of Beta testing, so given your are starting out SimTools v3 is likely the better choice, as it has a single easier to use interface, along with many other improvements: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/simtools-v3.401/

The place to start, for all your questions, is the SimTools v3 Quick Start Guide: https://simtools.us/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/QuickStart-Guide-for-SimTools3.pdf

    And the official manual: https://simtools.us/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/SimTools-v3.pdf

Code is required on the Arduino, the most common used by members using an Arduino is the various versions of SMC3, depending on what control hardware is used: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/arduino-code-for-use-with-various-hardware-and-simtools.31/

The code has to be flashed to the Arduino and all the parameters refined before setting up SimTools.

Also note that once on the track in the game, you need to hit 'v' on the keyboard to get into cockpit view, or the file that needs patched for motion will not be created.
