All assembled - and it works so far. First tests on my office PC are very promising, have now to stick the wheel on the rig. Later this afternoon or latest on Sunday I will upload more information and a video. Until then some pictures from the progress today:
The pinion was easy to stick using a Bunsen burner (same name in German ;) )

Soldering the mini board on the motor, was tricky, I had to drill out the old solder before.

eieiei - what a bother, this is an issue for sure and all T500RS are affected...

Was now 1 hour on Nord, the wheel seems to be 30% stronger then before and on the other hand much less clipping than expected. Gain settings in the dedicated control panel has been set now from 60% to 70%, 70% in AC and no clipping (99%). There are some small negative things as well: the wheel seems to be a little bit forceless at the center and the resolution could be better equivalent to the bigger force now. Until now after 1 hour hard driving the wheel has survived, the motor became warm but not hot and I am very happy with the results so far.

I would like to report some more details from yesterday after one more hour on Nordschleife.

    1. A very new impression is coming from the breaking out of the car in AC - if this happens, the wheel rotates into the opposite directions as usual. Now with the stronger motor the amplitude of the force is significant stronger, short said you feel the breaking out of the car earlier then before which makes the car better to control (one of the big advantages of the DD wheels). braking out.png
    2. Smoother rotation: the wheel is belt driven. Using the stronger motor the fine vibrations coming from the V-rib belt are no longer noticeable.
    3. No more annoying fan noise (has nothing to do with the new motor, only I would like to to mention this is a plus of the wheel pimp)
    4. I have to reduce the street effects (was 60-80% before)
    5. If the front wheels are slipping the effect is now way "better" then before (more effective braking as a result). I cannot say if this is more real, but in any case easier to drive.
    To be continued.

By any chance could you use a 3rd party after market wheel and review the ffb on drifting and grip driving?

    Sorry for the confusion.

By any chance could you use a real car steering wheel on your upgraded t500rs?
And give a review on the Force Feed Back?

of course using real wheels you need an adapter from Derek Spears or other, but large wheels are not recommended f. eg. I would not like to use wheels with more than 330mm diameter.

The most important thing of the FFB is the clipping which comes pretty much lately. If you would set your 65W wheel to 100% gain, you have 90% of clippings imo (did not test it before, it is an assumption from memory), but with the stronger motor you feel the "old" 100% gain now with 10% clipping.

...Still working. The wheel is so sensitive, so much less clipping and AC is so much better to drive, so smooth and no problems - yet.

Spamming my own thread... still working! No issues, no overheating neither of the motor nor of the PSU. The wheel is running as it should.

Great interest in your project. As the upgraded motor is quite a bit longer will this prevent the top cover from being re-fitted, or perhaps could be refitted if part of it was removed ?

Do you have a link to where you bought the motor from ?

No washout filter on surge, sway washout 10%. The moving seem to be moderate, but due to space constrains I have to make a compromise between all.
I suggest to have a look at http://www.oem.co.uk/, ask there for more information. The cover does not fit anymore, either you drill a hole into the cover or you let it off as I did. IMO better for cooling.

You're living in Australia, dunno where to buy the motors there. Furthermore the motors are coming from Germany which will result in horrendous cost (delivery, taxes). Perhaps you can find a "local" dealer?

Bad news anyway...so you should ask EU dealers but as already mentioned very expensive...one motor is 120€, now plus delivery and taxes - if the invest of more than AU$ 300.- is justifiable.
