Thanks @cgodwin, makes me very happy if you can take a cue from my sim ;)

Thanks @noorbeast, for me the details are very important, but not only on simulators, but also at work and I think that just the details sometimes make the difference;)
As well as on your sim you've left out the details and then a simulator is unique in the world.
As for the next video, I think it takes a little time before you post it because I saw that the lever system by 20cm I have adopted is not the best ... because having so many stress is weight to move ruined the 'gear motor ... in conclusion I would like to change this system with gear chain instead of the lever by 20cm.

    This gear is ruined:

Thank you very much! @GIB SimRacing

I am guessing that is the momentum of the rig being too much on fast reversals which damaged the gear.

you understand immediately the problem! :thumbs

The real problem that broke the gear is precisely because they are the reversing weight fast is to be moved, the surge with the lever system in my opinion is not the best ... because you have too much stress all the time and having too levers long creating a spring effect that with a pinion and chain I think this should not happen. ;)

This has always been my concern for supporting high loads without spending big dollars on a high Nm worm gearbox. I will see how my ballscrews last once my rig is in motion. They look OK in load/motion tests so far as there is no play between the 'gears' which stops them accelerating and then smashing into each other on changes in direction.

I think part of the issue is the sheer fact he's using Wiper motor's VS the Standard PGsaw/MD gear boxes which have proven to be much stronger in the nylon gear dept.

    Total 30cm , 15 cm for part ;)

For the moment I settled with the same engine by adding a damper on the lever, by cushioning the blows dealt by the property forward it is back.

Until now the tests I'm doing seems a good solution :)

No wiper, but the motors 24V 70 RPM 15NM with metal gears.
    what is left

The problem was too much weight of the structure with 20cm of leverage, but as I said earlier, seems to be resolved with a damper center.

This is the result with the damper, as you can see from the video, cushions the blows in both directions.

This is amazing. I'm having a hard time understanding the base table that you are using for the traction loss, sway, and surge. Do you have a diagram or pictures that can illustrate this? Thanks!

    Ciao

Kevin , I pre-ordered the new Oculus Rift that I would use with the simulator and of course we will update as soon as the object comes. A question: for how many inches you suggest monitor ? There is a reason why you do not use the triple monitor ?
    Ciao

@Jamburglar thanks, I did not understand the question what is meant by the diagram, perhaps it is worthwhile this video?

    @ilbiga , thanks ;)

I currently use a single monitor which in reality is a tv LG, I was waiting for the release of DK3 to figure out if it was worth buying one or three 24-inch monitors.
For my business the best I can put as screens is 24 "because they move together with the mobile station and do not want to make too much, but if you want to use the fixed monitor .. bigger the better you view the course. A friend of mine uses three 32-inch fixed and is very well ;)

    @Icefox :cheers

Ciao Kevin!
    A presto!

Ciao Kevin! As soon as I get the new Oculus you upgrade (sickness in my opinion will still be guaranteed ! o_O), for monitors, I probably will opt for those fixed in order to avoid burdening the structure too ... although I think the movable monitor returns more immersion... but I could be wrong .
    See you soon!

Febo Hello, sorry I'm late, but lately I do not even have time to blow my nose :)
I think it's a subjective thing, I have tried both the fixed and the mobile monitor, and I feel better with the latter. But this is my point of view, I think the car ... if the windshield is not fixed but moves all together.

Now I'm feeling a VR viewer with trinusVR + TriDef 3D and Huawei cell phone mate 8 with 6 pollci display with a resolution of 1920x1080 games like that dell'oculus Rift DK2, that is, a show

hello kevin! the monitor does not represent the car's windshield. the montor is the track on which to run, the race route. the track and stop does not move, but it is your car that moves running over them. then logically the monitor should be static. this logically. but as you know the logic of the simulator and to convey to your brain the sensation of being at the wheel and sometimes this result is obtained with devices that do not correspond to reality but which deceive our brain giving us the feeling of being in reality. think for example to sim with steering wheel and pedals fixed and only one seat on the move. me shudder yet it seems that convey a feeling of greater immersion. the same goes for the monitor. if you want to replicate the reality it should be firm, but if you want to trick the brain to give a feeling of being in the reality may be that your choice gives a better result. I frankly doubt it. for me absolutely static monitor, my car runs on earth then stops the monitor does not move. l my opinion and obviously that I might expose because I find incorrect your identify in the windscreen monitors. the monitor and not the windshield. please note that I do not drive the cockpit like many people here.

Ciao Kevin.
    Ciao

Ciao Kevin. I think pretty much everyone here we are enthusiasts who delight with simulators in your free time ... that is always short .
I, too, despite the silence, I'm going slowly forward with my project and for the moment I installed so that it is movable monitor (and I like it ...), but I will assess the static monitor option (although in this case my opinion is that the static monitor must necessarily be larger to avoid having to move your eyes when the structure moves due to pitch and roll).
Regarding the implementation of VR, I have not yet try the CV1 on my sim because I want before regulate movements, since surely the sickness will be great :( .
Soon there will be news update the post ! ;)
    Hello
