    Hello salut.gif

    Once I completed my DIY Mige steering wheel, I felt like to swap easily between wheels (F1, rally, GT...)

    but quick-release are expensive
    and for each new wheel, you have to buy the 2 parts QR and use only one
    and many QR loose precision with time

    So I intended to design a low cost, no gap, very fast quick-release!

    pay attention to:
    - the material (ABS is okay, PLA has been fine for Shannonb1)
    - ask for "full infill" (100% fill without honeycombing)
    - STL file describes only the surface geometry of a three-dimensional object (hence the volume but not the inside!) so ask for 100% fill
    because the 3D printer uses a software to read the stl file and by default they do honeycomb.

    Just for insight....I checked with shapeways and they wanted 65$ to print this.....I have a buddy I work with that has a makerbot2 and is gonna hook me up instead but I figured I would look. I need to get into the 3d printing business!

    Thank you for sharing this idea @RacingMat
    I don't have a 3D printer so I thought why not run with a mild steel one so
    got a free bike frame off a friend and cut a section of the seat pole off the frame and the seat

    I used a bimetal hole cutter to make a 80 mm disc and then cut rough to size both seat pole and frame pole

    then drill G27 wheel PCD test fit and cut to size and paint

    works great and very fast to swap wheels total cost £5 for seat quick release

    I wish i found this sooner hehe.
    Bought from ebay 2 quick releases and still not sure if 2nd wheel can be fitted as im using the G27 default buttons and need some connections to the wheel itself.
    I think with this solution would be able to make a cheap and nice alternative to the quick release i have atm.

    Even tough, if my 2nd doesnt work will look into this, probably i an fit both wheels with this and make it work ;)

    I'm thinking of converting my Fanatec Gt2 for other wheels, therefore I want to use one too.
    @RacingMat thanks for sharing your 3d printfile. May I ask what software you used to create it and would it be hard to change the diameter of the shaft?
