One MM was stopping, after a short check I got this:

To much power :) (or badly wired...)

Run it hard until it breaks...at least that is the simple end of things going wrong ;)

The DIY universal joint will be replaced soon by ball joints. BTW the new motor is great!! If my winches will die once upon a time (which I do not believe so) I will replace them, too.

    Nice job Pit.

I am guessing the new motor is also a lot quieter than the winches.

What is the lever arm that you have used, it looks nicely sculptured?

A bike crank...a very cool bit of re-purposing.

So what is the CTC of the crank and did it need any modification to fit the shaft?

The diameter is not equal to the shaft. I used some spacer and I had to drill out a bore to fix the crank:

Hi all, today the FrexGP seq shifter was delivered, what a peace of craftsmanship! The button box from DSD was already here so I was going to complete my rig:
    20150130_202105.jpg
After all parts have been assembled I started the rig, and...one motor failed. For now I could solve the first issue (one +5v wire was loosing a contact), but after testing all I got only 9.6 V instead of 12v from one MM. Still looking for the issue... :)

day after day your sim gets even better.
try a different psu if you haven't already done that and take a measurement from your psu with some load on them.

PSU works fine, I welded all again and controlled all so far, but the f"ç%"ç MM wont go higher than 9.6v. Tomorrow I will check it out in the "standard" mode, not as a half bridge config.

Such a Unique variety of different materials used Pit, Sure it a lot to take in when you start to study each bracket, Spacer and wiring harness ran here or there.

Glad you found a better solution to the old winch setup. :thumbs

I will be looking forward to seeing how your upgrade progresses @Pit, heave is something I really miss. I have seriously been considering implementing a variation of @SeatTime's compact heave approach but it will be good to see how yours goes.

Update: instead of one 2000 watts server supply DPS-2000BB now two of them (I already bought two).
One PSU only fails on Nord (Pagani Zonda R or Mazda 787b...). Please keep in mind my motors are very powerful and if I would use "standard" motors with up to 350 watts one psu would do the job. I attached again the MM bank - as we say usually: "cubic inch capacity is replaceable with nothing but more cubic inch capacity" :) (not seriously but effectively)
