    Ok, I had a thought.
I have put a square around the dash section on this screen shot of dirt3
    dirt3.08.lg.jpg
would there be a program of some sort, that allows you to hover a window of sorts over that section, and then be able to display the small section of game on a 2nd screen.
I am not sure what to look for, but if it could be done, then dash display on my 7" screen would work.
Id have to have a way of making that extra display window be able to be different resolution to my main tv.
    Tv is 1920 x 1080 and small screen is 800 x 600.

This might assist. The guy waffles on and on on the video so you might have to skip forward to get to the "guts"

The only drawback with this is that the game must be run in a Window..

Should work on anything, not just the iPad in this video.

Might give you some pointers anyway mate.

He uses OBS in the Video I posted, but sends to an iPad instead. Quite a good bit of software!

Sorry I had not watched the video. It is a great bit of software and multi-platform too.

I had a go at it today, a bit of fiddling and the game runs ok in windowed mode. Maybe a better video card might help, but not overly concerned.

It helps a bit having 2 dashs going, but ideally a proper one would be good.
Still, thanks for the tip off, it works.

That's great idea @bsft, it works pretty good in your video with very low display lag between the two screens, almost nothing to be noticeable by naked eye.
It looks more fancier that usual dashboard application.

And thanks to @Archie for pointing out on this, I will try it aswell :thumbs
