    My 90ST-4025 is getting shipped. Mega excited to try this! I'm planning to use a 3d printed pla shaft adapter to attach a wheel to the motor, should I be worried about material strength?

    The AliExpress sale? I'm also very probably going to click by tomorrow on the same unit.

    My plan is a 3D printed shaft adapter, but I was thinking of going with petg because it's got a bit more give to it and the high-frequency bumps and shakes of the motor might eventually cause a cracking pla.

    It should be strong enough though, if you make it heavy duty enough in terms of plastic and don't over torque any nuts

    I used PETG and ABS for adapters for my 90st-04025 servo. I've broke ABS one because of not using clamp. PETG one seems to have some gap after 2 weeks of use. I think that it's better to use ABS for adapter because my servo shaft heats up to 60-70 Celsius degrees.

    I think my disco board arrived today. The motor should be here by thursday.

    Started making an adapter for my 40mm m6 bolt pattern gokart wheel.

    The 90ST has 16mm shaft diameter right?

    Ok so my stuff is here. But I realised I gave all my bar clamps away and I have nothing to bolt the motor onto..

    Gonna try to make a mount with my friend in our spare time the next couple of weeks.

    Motor feels quite strong i stupidly started jog testing it while holding in my hand and it almost jumped out of my grip :D

    I made a pla shaft collar, will see how long it takes for it to melt!

    got mmos sorted and wired up and the motor just keeps spinning into one direction. Tried changing pn191 but all it does is switching the direction of the spin. any suggestions?


    EDIT: i probably should not be using jumper wires to connect the stm board to the db25 cable.. i think it's my bad wiring causing an issue

    I haven't had time to touch it since. I don't have a Thanos board, using an stm32f-407-disc1.

    Waiting for some supplies to arrive so I can make better contact between the disco board and the aasd box.

    UPDATE: i soldered the wiring properly to a db25 connector. reset the aasd drive, input the proper settings again. I had to set "reverse encoder" in mmos. The motor stays centered on powerup now. :)

    So i hooked up everything to my desktop for the first time.

    The machine's usb controller freezes as soon as I turn the wheel and comes back to life if the AASD gets disconnected from the disco board.

    I'm assuming this is a grounding issue with the motor so I'll try to sort that out in the next couple of days.

    It's a gokart wheel, i think i got it on amazon or ebay. You can find the same design here and there if you search "f1 style gokart wheel". I want to make a proper hub with buttons and shifter+clutch paddles for it once the steering works reliably.

    One thing to note, it has a 40mm triangle bolt pattern, so not sure if it will fit a universal quick release.
    I will release 3d model files for what i designed for it at some point.

    Well, I moved the usb hub from the front panel to the rear and I no longer get usb issues seemingly.

    But I'm only running 15% force as I haven't got the desk clamp built yet!

    started designing a 3d printable bracket using some bessey tk6 clamps. will probably warp due to heat on higher ffb % but does the job for now and I will be adding a 120mm cpu fan.
