    Good job wannabeaflyer2 ,
I have seen this blog-tutorial for a long time https://opensfx.com/documentation/ and it encourages me a lot since everything is very well explained but I see that they use other software, they use an arduino controller ARD-A000057 Leonardo Microcontroller 169226, do you think it would be compatible with simtools? what kind of interface do you select in simtools for your arduino?

    Regards

He is using the AMC-AASD15A servo controller:
    https://www.tindie.com/products/tronicgr/amc-aasd15a-servo-motion-controller/

Its compatible with Simtools, FlyPT Mover and Ian's BFF 6DOF motion software...

hi @Majony as Thanos has mentioned im using His Excellent Controller and if you check out his website youll see he has a new Interface which in effect can be used as replacement for SFX option if you so choose ,

There are now a number of great options for controlling these AC servo motors each has thier own merits , its down to the user as to which system best suits their needs .. very happy with the flexibility that FlyPt mover and the AMC-AA15SD and simtools V2 will allow on my 6d0f or 4 dof simulators have to say for us DIY Guys its a great time to making Motion simulators

runnig out of excuses now LOL :) cockpit and actuators mounted and very close to system power up .. more taster pics , the learning detail will start once shes powered up and im running FlyPt Mover .. fingers crossed there will be no bangs smoke or other breakages .

Had to replace one of my actuator ball screws as mate inadvertently wound the nut down to far --------balls everywhere and must of been short when i reassembled the ball nut as it worked , but just did not feel right ..

So new one ordered off flea bay last Sunday and its here today so happy chappy .. temporary parking spot till full power up time

    Looks good!

I just hope the motor mount supports can handle the torque... Keep the video rolling when testing, might be able to get some viral destruction video out of it!! :p:p

LOL you have now Officially placed a seed of doubt in my design thinking :) But remember there are 4 M6x 110 Stainless steel screws so my train of thought was that the 3D printed parts were just stand-off and any torque load should be absorbed with the screws ..... ( He Say Hmmmmmmmm maybe just Maybee :) mind you i have the option of making the same design using CNC delrin Material ( Thats Gotta Be stronger that 3D printed part) HHHHmmmm he say rubbing his chin again " Or Is It" :) Cheers for the feedback guys

Thats exactly my thinking matey with my 3D printed actuators , I hope we are right lol :D

Hi guys he's back , been hovering but xmas panic now over for few days , just thought id post pic of the current testbed setup im using while learning to set system up without it killing me LOL. i learnt along time ago to respect these creations but Dammm this thing is a beast if not tamed .. when they said it could shake the fillings outta your head they werent kidding and make eyes feel like there on stalks is also not far wrong ... at one stage i could not even focus on screen it was so violent ( but that was just raw un refined setup ) ..

I was given a Profile for AC and that made a massive difference to the sim operation ,
So for this stage of testing im using the sfx type actuator set as 4DOF , Thano's AMC-AASD15 Servo controller and FlyPt MOVER ve 2.8 .. and running Kartkraft as simulation for tests ..

will post Video at some point soon but have to say FlyPtmover / AMC _aasd15 Combo is delivering the goods big time ,

More updates to come once i get a bit better understanding of the filters and their use in FlyPt-Mover .. :)

note the MDF parts will be replaced once things have been tested and positioning of key elements finalised . 55" tv will be used if i have hassle with My Occulus VR headset ( so much to learn but its getting there)

Progress being made , driver still crap so i used AI driver to help fine tune Motion ( yeah i cheated ,, it was either that or loose all my teeth LOL ) so to clarify , Pcars , AMC AASD15 Servo Controller . FlyPt Mover software & My DIY SFX type actuator and MASSIVE Grin at this achievement ..

Before i go any further, i will admit and say Yes i know im Not Driving, LOL , im a passenger along for ride with AI driver , just wanted to see how the Sim handled a new Profile i was trying so jumped in and enjoyed the ride LOL....

Posting a Video of me driving is whats commonly called " Car Crash TV " at least this way i get to put sim through the paces and weight testing ,while i dial in the FlyPt Mover Profile ... Gotta say this thing is awesome ..

Tried it in VR and WOW WOW WOW , Surface feeling , Rumble strips , Fender bashing Bumps form other Cars, gear change surge, Breaking ,acceleration , Engine RPM the list just goes on and i have'nt even scratched the surface yet DAMMM @pmvcda your program is something else .. the dream comes alive :)

Now if only i could get the Damm VR to stay centered that would be icing on the cake ,,, treid to set up Drift but only got View of drivers BUTT LOL ( Tracking of crap setup on my part :) )

Here are 2 laps in Formula A car as demo think i need to tweak profile to be little harsher for Openwheel Cars
