    Hi all,

Keen to hear peoples thoughts/feedback on what axis are best used for VR immersion in iRacing for a 2DOF rig.

I have read things previously about using surge and sway i believe and there was explanations around surge best being used due to the way iRacing calculates/outputs their data because they take into account gravity forces?!?!?! I'm sure I've read that somewhere in these forums anyway...

For example, is there any point of having 20% pitch and 20% surge or is it better to just have 40% surge for arguments sake?

I dont have AC or PC or any other racing/flight games, purely ONLY iRacing hence putting it in this area of the forums. Hopefully I will still get a response.

iRacing does account for gravity, but in many respects the key issue is personal preference in what axis are setup and prioritized in the motion profile.

I am not into iRacing, as I have a lousy net connection, but I prioritise sway, surge, heave and roll, and to a less extent pitch, as my personal preference is that the latter is less of a priority in VR, a small pitch tilt to signify a change is enough for me. Others like a more substantial pitch input, and that is what I mean about refining a motion profile to suit your rig and personal preference: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

God dammit @noorbeast and your practical, logical, level minded answers... Haha Completely understand and accept what you are bringing to the table, was only second guessing myself because of what I'm sure i read about iRacing and their different physics data

I was running with a 50/50/50/50 on sway/surge/pitch/roll setup and never ran into any clipping, although I may not have been maxing out anything all at once. Maybe this is too much? I suppose as long as clipping isn't occurring I should appreciate the range of motion. The biggest use of pitch seems to be on areas like Bathurst/Spa/some infields of ovals like New Hampshire; otherwise not noticeable until you are wrecking. Roll is most important on the oval track with high banks like charlotte and Daytona, for me anyway. Reminds me of walking out on the tracks and truly accounting for the banks!

Can't wait for a revamped Zandvoort.

    Hi

I have 45 Sway and Surge 55 I also use the profile editor then to adjust in that for finer tunning which i have sway set at -14 but not messed for along time seems i have many settings saved in the profiler editor.
    Rig is 2 x scn5 seat mover.

Been out the sim side for a long time tbh so have no idea where i am now ! lol
No idea if any of that can help but if i can i will do my best.
