    Lever mounting solution

If you are like me and can't weld and have no resources to have the levers welded than you can try this method:

    Basically it's a keyhole principle:

I used some standard steel plates you can buy everywhere and cutted them to shape with my dremel.
You need two per side as the 2mm are to thin and might bend under weight.

The idea is to cut some kind of tooth into the nut so it holds your lever:

Be aware you have to make it a tight fit between the positive and the negative shapes to prevent it from wiggling.
I had to hammer it in place and it is rock solid:

To be on the save side you should also strengthen it with 2 components adhesive.
    Better be save than sorry!

You can then counter it with another (self-locking) nut and there you go!
Your finished lever looks like this:

how do you find out what's too thin and what will hold?
How do you chose correct bolts and levers?

I simply assumed two plates will be enough. I saw others use 5mm steel plates for it. So I figured 2x 2mm plates are also enough.

The bolt size was given by the motors I'm using.

For the lever size and holes, I just copied the same length someone else used in a similar build thread and used SimCalc to check if it will all work out. :thumbs
