I'm going to buy some metal plate to make flaps for my g seat. I'm not sure about the thickness. Can I get away with 1mm-1.2 or would I need 2mm? I weight 70kg

    Thanks!

I just finished a g-seat. 2 or 3 mm aluminum for the backplates is fine. The heave or seat plates will need 3mm.
Steel is harder to work with for me so I used aluminum when ever possible.
Did you see my build? It is a ruff copy of the GS-4.

Thanks that's good to know! Not sure if seen it, I'll have a look if you got a link. I'm converting a dxracer seat myself now. Gave up on the wood as it looked to shabby

Its not as easy as it seems sometimes! lol
What you find under the cover may surprise you.

For example the wood structure in my seat was preformed with built in lumbar supports and made things much more difficult.
One tip I have if you have not cut the covering yet it to cut from the center line of the chair and work your way out to the edge.
On my chair back I cut along the perimeter which did not allow me to reuse any of the PU Leather..

Looks good. I'm thinking something along those lines too but I need to use my wiper motors for now. I got away easy on the back and seat should be the same on mine. Not sure if I will keep the current cover or not but I'll try. I have a build thread too. I see some talk about pneumatic also being better than paddles but that's for the future

Check the last posting. Did that today https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/trigens-g-seat-build-starting-up.12869/
