That's understandable. I tried to follow various build threads and people posted up what they saw as optimum angles for the levers and shoulder mounts etc. I may need some advice on balancing but I don't really see any significant weight differences in lots of the other sims on here. Bear in mind I have no screen mounted up front either so this is a relatively lightweight sim compared to others.

ok, so I just tried project cars and i have all 3 motors firing up but for some reason on my traction loss motor it just sweeps back and forward a few times as if it's hunting for position, then stops, then simtools crashes in the background.

ok, so back to the jrk utility. I inverted the feedback and hey presto, a motor that is now cooperating. I tried it on dirt 3 and although it was moving the opposite direction to the car it appears to be functioning with the game feedback. (Now corrected in the simtools game engine.)

Next question. How do I tone down the traction loss motion. It's a little too sharp and probably snapping from one side to the other a little bit much. Would it be advisable to simply shorten my pivot point on my lever on that motor?

My right hand motor controller is no doubt showing signs that it heats up slightly more than the others. I'll keep an eye on this for now. I'm confident that my fans and heatsinks will do their job as long as i don't push my limits.

Might that have anything to do with reversing the gear in the gearbox? I don't assume so as i've seen so many others doing it.

JRK's can and will die over time if you push them. I suspect your right side is on the way out.

To help further, Axis Settings and tuning center screen shots please. No you dont mechanically de tune the traction loss, you do that in tuning center.

No reversing the motor has nothing to do with that.

Tho On seat mover's, it is the Right hand motor that gets more abuse.

ok, here are some screen shots of what i have. I'm not totally clued up on all these settings yet, so i tried my best to stick with average or default settings.
Let me know if you need anything else, even the jrk utility screen shots.

Anyone got any suggestions about my settings shown above?

The traction loss is very snappy and moves erratically and rumbles and bumps even when the car is stationary at the start of project cars. Do i need to have smoother settings somewhere or some kind of dead spot in the middle?

I'll try my best to follow this if I can. I have a feeling this may be a long day. :(

Refining a motion profile gets easier with practice and a better understanding of SimTools settings.

I'm getting there. I just reset all the settings for dirt 3 and everything is a bit more precise now. The traction loss isn't slapping around the same any more so that's something. I just need to try fiddling with it to make sure it's working correctly. I may have a little bit of play in one of my levers so I need to double check all the screws and bolts.

I have noticed that no matter what game I'm playing the profile always displays 'default' and doesn't offer me any other options. Is this normal?

Do you mean Default in the Game Manager profile?

If so that would be the case when you have not created a new profile for specific cars or tracks.

When you are satisfied with a generic motion profile you can refine it even further by creating specific car/track profiles in the Profile Editor, located in the SimTools Game Manager. Copy the Default Profile in Profile Editor under the Editor tab, name the copy by the Car/Track then use the sliders in the Editor to further tweak the settings: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

Ah, I think I understand it now. I'll hopefully get a chance to look at it again later. Looks like i need to do a lot of test driving to find a couple of good profiles. Currently I set up one for dirt 3 and it seems to be pretty good but feels a little too subtle on project cars so i need to make a new one which is a little more aggressive.

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.
